Edit: Hey I've been doing a few of charcoal drawing lately (not by choice- I keep waking up having artistic urges), and having finally gotten over thinking working off a reference is "cheating", I was wondering if anyone could recommend some photos or paintings that would really help me boost my artistic ability. I know just drawing things in general helps, but I don't have that much free time and I've always believed in training very specifically when trying to learn a skill.

Thanks. They're real easy to invent, if you've got a good vocabulary and a sense of rhythm.

No but those are not good haikus at all. They're really easy for you to write because they are bad. They are very simple 4th grade sentences that happen to 17 syllables. It's like if I said this attached face were good pixel art. It's a horrible bastardization of the original concept which, if called acceptable, invalidates the hard work and talent all good practitioners of the art.
