Re: Art Dump
Well, like I said, it's fresh out of the oven. I haven't managed to pick out the random charred bits. I'm on it, though. (I just made it in like the last three hours or so, so it isn't going to be perfect or anything.) EDIT: Where are the scribbles? I couldn't find anything... Maybe you could point them out for me? :/

Re: Art Dump
Sometimes an sketch can look 100 times better than a finished and polished piece. Anyway I don't see any scribbles at first glance but I think the head needs some work, I liked the older version. Anyway, this is a piece of fan art for a game, heavily WIP. Any tips on the scenery, things that look bad, so and so would be appreciated.

Re: Art Dump
So glad to hear. And the shell shine looks really great if you're going for a metal or gemstone look.

Re: Art Dump
That's what I meant by gemstone, like polished marble or some shiz.

Re: Art Dump
Well, one thing I'm worried about is the crystals. :/

Re: Art Dump
I think the edges on those crystals are too bright and consistent, I took the time out of my oh-so busy schedule to do a quick edit, I just added more subdued speculars to some of the chrystals and broke up the shine on others. Left is my edit. Just noticed the right-most turtle shell piece looks like an ear. Update on my piece

Re: Art Dump
I like it, but the anatomy of the arms seems a bit off... Are his shoes sandals? Anyways, the colors are nice.

Re: Art Dump
The shoes are going to be boots...I think. Contrary wrote: madmax to MLC wrote: too bright and consistent Ha. That's like telling Godzilla: Too stompy. Light shouldn't reflect off all crystals at all angles with equal strength, some of those crystals should be more tilted up or down causing reflected light to be weaker or stronger, I just think it seems unnatural unless you're in a fullbright room or something.

Re: Art Dump
Well, at first I shaded his shoes normally, but then I realized that made them look boring. So I vomited pixels all over them Is it better now? I've stared at it so much the whole thing looks crazy now. Maybe the whole thing is crazy. D: Max: I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that MLC loves that.

Re: Art Dump
They look pretty good. Mainly looks like shoelaces to me though. Maybe try removing the bottom-most pixel on his right foot and the bottom right pixel on his left foot. Also I think the arm looks just about right, honestly. Though you could maybe make the highlights just on his right arm's elbow a little bit dimmer.

As far as the shiny crystals, you're right madmax. I JUST LOVE AMBIENT LIGHT AS AN EXCUSE FOR SHINIES!
I'll have to remedy that...

Re: Art Dump
Anything else? I think I might make more frames of this guy and use him in something, so I want the idle stance to be perfect.
Allstone: Which bottom most left pixel?
