I'd like to get it, but I'm restraining and remaining skeptical.
I like the halo series, but I think if it follows the same mechanics of halo 3, even hardcore fans have to admit its kind of getting stale. Does anyone know if this supports splitscreen? Of course it does.

The Halo franchise is fractal in nature; each sequel is exactly as insipid as all of its precursors.

Re: Halo: Reach
Rarely changes, and when it does make some attempt at variety, it's typically paradoxical and seems like a half-assed effort.
Then again, seeing as it's a game, most people overlook that because they like the endless pewpewpew that is Halo.

Re: Halo: Reach
Aside the massive hype that's turned it into a slightly more tolerable Twilight in the gaming world, it's not a horrible game. Single player has a nice mixture of environments, different factions have weapon tech that behave differently (well, for the most part), music isn't ear-destroying.
Still, you're not going to see me drooling at the doors of Game Stop waiting for a midnight release- I'll be the ass making the awful sucking sounds with the last nanometer of Slushee in his cup for two hours because he decided to tag along with his friend who pre-ordered. Well, minus this midnight release. Apparently since ODST's thing didn't turn out as well as the store figured, they decided to not do another midnight thing for Reach. But not wanting to have to refund all the pre-orders to kids who're just going to Wal-Mart across the road, they didn't bother telling anyone who didn't ask this time? Imagine the nerd rage of these kids being escorted away from the doors by a mall cop, and that's what Twwig's going to be watching tonight for kicks.

Re: Halo: Reach
Well, now that I've stocked up on soft drinks, microwavable food and breaded chicken, and played till the third campaign level, I must say the game is excellent so far.

If I already beat the game on heroic does that mean I have no life?

One of my friends beat it on legendary the day it came out. Took him 11 hours straight apparently.

Re: Halo: Reach
Yea beat it with a friend yesterday on heroic, it took us about that long. I was getting so tired and pissed off by the end of last night because of the constant chuck norris face-kicks those elites can do.
Also, easter egg with the club was awesome.

Re: Halo: Reach
Sadness, there wasn't as much nerd rage as I had expected. Story mode was kind of a let down compared to the others, no epic last level involving a race against an exploding everything. It would've been cool to at least have the environment being glassed around you during that last "SPOILER. Be more considerate next time." part. My friend and I cleared Heroic in about six hours flat, but then again, he's one of those Halo junkies.
At least the Forge mode is usable, eh?

Halo's music is always amazing. Except for 2. They kind of dropped the ball with the electric guitar.
