The strength-enhancing super armor that lets me survive goddamn reentry, jump two meters in the air, and yet can't hold a ♥♥♥♥ .197 caliber SMG steady while firing?

The suspension of disbelief required of Halo while it simultaneously purports to have sensible backstory is what kills it for me. The gameplay is formulaic but enjoyable; I'd be more willing to play it if the campaign and extended universe didn't take itself so goddamn seriously.

Also, if all the interior environments didn't look exactly the goddamn same.

Grif, I respect that. No better way to phrase it.

Is there any way to explain the more advanced technology in Reach that wasn't present in the first Halo game? And why couldn't MC use them lil' pistols from 3: ODST, hm? I very much disapprove of plot inconsistency like that...

Why couldn't he use the pistol from Halo 1? It was awesome.
Also, plasma pistols, they must've had the awesome edition sent to the Halo 1 Covenant invasion force while the rest of them had the shitty beta editions.

I disapprove of Reach, except in that it is supposedly the end of the series. Major failures with the last three Halo games, in my opinion. 3: ODST wasn't all that impressive, except for FireFight, and the Wars game was just another RTS, right? At least it will pull some noobs out of CoD:4 and MW2, eh?

I hope Black Ops pulls them back. I've been having very pleasant experiences in Halo 3 lately, since most idiots are either on MW2 or the MLG playlist.

Grif, you hit that target spot on.

Halo 3 online nowadays is basically just that- AND THE JUMPING- how do you jump two meters while wearing two ton armor?

500kg

While Earth undoubtedly is the economic and cultural center of humanity, Reach was the military one. They had all the R 'n' D planetside when the Covenant attacked, they used much of that gear to defend the place. Although I don't really see more advanced gear in Reach. Canonically the DMR is inferior to the BR, only the UNSC Army uses it anymore. The pistol is the same, the grenade launcher is Army issue and the new assault rifle is just an Army designation for the MA5. Can't say about Covenant weapons.

The after credits campaign level was pretty cool. That is all I will say about that.

Halo is one of those games that seem thought-out at first glance but end up being full of crap. Then again, it's a game, so who cares about ultra-realism?

If this is the last Halo then why'd they leave it the way it was at the ending of Halo 3 (Legendary)?

Unless there is somekind of way explaining everything in Reach. The Cheif lives and bungie dont give crap?? Well then, my fun with Halo is done.

But I'm still interested to see this story, hopefully it makes up for every other Halo game..

This is a prequel to all the Halo FPS's. And Halo: Reach is only the last Halo game made by Bungie.

exactly.

I'd like to get it, but I'm restraining and remaining skeptical.

I like the halo series, but I think if it follows the same mechanics of halo 3, even hardcore fans have to admit its kind of getting stale.
Does anyone know if this supports splitscreen?

I didn't think much of the beta, but when I watched gameplay trailers it looked really fun.
