I am confused. Is this a sort of stripped CC or something?

Re: Cortex Command - One Computer, 2 Games
I called on guys from IRC to test this with me, but there were only two. Skiv, and Mattress. Anyway, here's the video of us playing. You can see us joining and leaving. The server could've potentially lasted for a while on its own if I had accounted for deaths in the code at that time, but you'll see in the beggining of the vid, player 3 (me) dies, but stays visible on the minimap even though I leave and rejoin. Also, you'll see an actor gib seemingly on his own later in the vid, and that's how a player leaves the server. Anyway, feel free to ask me questions. I'm going to implement death and Guns next. I may also make the map look a little more like a 2D 2Fort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6jS987bACY

Re: Cortex Command - One Computer, 2 Games - Update 1
Sorry for double post, but I think I have deaths working, and guns working (kinda).
Maybe tomorrow, I'll release a public beta. I still need to get tickrates sorted out.

There is nothing downloadable yet. Please use some sort of common sense, Allstone was suggesting a course of action in a hypothetical situation.

Re: Cortex Command - One Computer, 2 Games - Update 1
Literally all I need to do is synchronize the gun shots better, and I can release the beta.
Expect it today. EDIT: Or maybe not. It seems I still have a lot to do.

Well, it was fun enough playing instagib with shotguns. The lag was massive over the Atlantic, as expected.

But no, seriously, potential (laggy) multiplayer sounds pretty damn awesome, limited as it is in its current state.

Re: Cortex Command - One Computer, 2 Games - Update 1
Actually, Daman's probably right, Data's reaction would be something like "Wow, he didn't even make this in a real programming language."
But, it's no longer laggy (unless you're in Finland (which both of my beta testers were)).
So uh, time to make it an actual game.

The secund video looks nice, not that laggy! In other news I do no longer think you are bluffing!
