Re: Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
Well, the walkpaths have needed an overhaul for ages anyway. Having multiple speeds would be nice, and having an "encumberment" threshold which when you're above it you can't run would be a nice bridge between a hard cap and an emergent cap.

Re: Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
I was just wondering, how can an assault rifle weight 14 kilos?
I'd prefer if my Light Clone could jetpack with a compact assault rifle and a sniper rifle.

Most of the masses are completely off anyway. A majority of bullets are over a kilogram, if I remember correctly.

And the shells weight 100 kilograms.

Most of the weights used are pretty much random. Along with speeds and such.

Yeah, the bullet speeds are ridiculously low. Unfortunately there is a hard cap of 500 units before the object simply ceases to exist.

The lower bullet speed is more fun than raytracing though. Means you can MATRIX SLOW MOTION out of the way sometimes, or at least gives you time to make some sort of meaningful reaction. Also means that higher velocity rifles have a tangible bonus.

Re: Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
They should be standardized anyway. Maybe have the heavy sniper with 500, a rifle with 250 and so on.

Re: Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
Problem is, if you're moving at all when you're firing the sniper the bullet will just disappear. Same if you're moving faster than 250 with the rifle.

Re: Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
Lua can be atached to devices right? if so a simple function could take care of that Code: if(device.speed>0){ fired_round.speed = standard_rifle_speed } (no lua, or any other language, for that matter, just trowing out ideas)
But I see how having 30 function calls per clip, per weapon would be too much bloat.

Re: Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
For the moment, you can't really have Lua scripts directly on HeldDevices that is active when held.

Yeah, you need a bit of fiddling to get stuff like that to work. They will supposedly work next build though.
