Then he ignores it, which he will be doing in all likelihood even if it is up to scratch. Part of the deal about being creative and having an idea about a universe.

People seriously, we don't need to stress wether or not our ideas will be "accepted" or "rejected", wether we should wait for prom ect. The Topic was posted to help expand our ideas around the world of cc. Like some random stories told about about the same thing, everyone has a differaint view and when the guy who was realy there (Arne) comes he can tell it like it realy is and the rest will just have to fall into what he says. Remmember there are ALOT of things Prom may never even think to touch, those things he doesn't define remain as it is descussed here.
Stop worring
Start talking

BTW what do you guys think about the void (G6)...

Post Re: The WORLD of CC
My own ideas until Arne expands his more:
The big 3 (their alliance form the Orion Spur Amalgam):
The Republic of the Rim, Galactic Multinational Federation, and Orion Arm Union are all huge empires extending for thousands of light years along the Orion Arm. Faster than light travel is currently impossible, but instantaneous communication is. They maintain communications through a network that spans all explored territory. Along these communication lines are space stations, owned by many corporations, FreeTrade being one of them. These corporations have disproportionate influence because their space stations hold the communications, and therefore the alliance, together.

The CC Planet:
This planet is on the fringe of the Orion Arm, and is of not much interest to the larger empires due to the presence of much more resources in the contested Galactic Core. Smaller powers who are unable to fight the big guys in the core, however, find it very useful. Long ago, settlers arrived on the planet and set up communication outposts, making it part of radial com-lines extending from the core. Hundreds of years after the initial settlement, FreeTrade set up a small space station on the planet to expand their markets. Though miniscule by the standards of the Big 3, this space station soon evolved in to a teeming city...

The Collapse:
Investors in FreeTrade announced that due to a recent depression, the company would scale down, and assets would be sold or gotten rid of that were not providing profit. The TradeStars along the edge of the Orion Arm fell in to this group, and most were acquired or destroyed. However, the TradeStar along the CC Planet was too remote and too undesirable, and was merely abandoned, soon descending in to chaos. The executives blockaded themselves in the upper levels of the station while things got out of control, and crime went rampant.

The Coalition:
The security forces on board the TradeStar, now without jobs, realized that it could not be sacked. They seized control of weapons and Alchiral VATs on the main level of the station. They soon formed an alliance to protect their weapons and supplies, and became known as the Coalition. Over time, they stabilized the remains of the tradestar and were even able to open up trade with the main planet and re-establish the com line.

The Ronins:
The descendants of the original colonists were glad to see the TradeStar go, as they had seen it as a means of their own exploitation. They reverted back to an agrarian lifestyle, while the Coalition gradually grew to control the skies. A few, however, remember the old days, centuries ago, where their families had controlled the planet. These people formed guerilla groups, forming rag-tag fighting forces from whatever they had at hand. They lacked the military strength of the coalition, but found power in numbers. When the Coalition began to build bases on the ground, the guerillas, now called "Ronins" were able to fight back.

The Dummies:
The Tradestar operated cheap security robots as a means of providing basic insurance to prospectors. They were pathetically armed and easy to destroy, and were not considered an important fighting force. When the TradeStar executives retreated to the upper levels during the Collapse, however, they were the only form of defense available. The robots, called "green dummies," had an even greater weakness, though: a central control computer. Coalition Hackers mounted attacks on this computer, and dummies across the tradestar began to malfunction randomly due to lack of a master. One dummy, however, developed an intelligence. It uplinked itself in to computers across the tradestar, controlling them and at the same time developing a collective mind. Soon, it learned how to build more dummies like itself, but with dampers so that only it could control them.

WhiteBots and Brown Coats:
Shortly before the Collapse, the executives knew they would need defenses, and hired two groups of mercenaries. The first were elite marines from the Republic of the Rim, known as Browncoats. The others were called Techion, and were a mass order of high end robots from the OAU. Both groups failed to reach their destination before the Collapse. However, they still were able to exploit the niche for more powerful military technology, and ended up in various hands as hired guns.

I know this is very different from what others are saying, but maybe small parts of it are cool...

Fan Factions:
OAU Carrier 9982:
A ship filled with experimental soldiers and some other military technology. It was supposed to fight in the core but made a wrong turn somewhere and crash-landed on the CC Planet.

Galacticom (not a real faction): A mysterious guild that maintains communications across the galaxy. It is unknown how they are able to create faster-than-light communication, and they show know sign of allowing their monopoly to fail in the future. Galacticom members are always well protected, traveling in planet-sized starships with no-one aboard but themselves. The only faction that have resisted Galacticom are the Myskoplex.

The Void:
An area not explored very well, but home to a ring nanobots that convert anything that goes in in to more nanobots. An unusual number of Galacticom lines extend in to the void.

Post Re: The WORLD of CC
Jon - thanks for mentioning the void there, remember the void was added by my self, um I blacked out some stars and well left them blacked out, since the deep space part had some faint stars in... I had no other choice than to name sector G6 The Void and yes I did draw the stars.

-WTF Weapon Testing Facility aka dummies
Is a group of robotics specially designed to preform weapon (and occasional drop ship) testing. Made out of relatively cheap yet relatively tough Cyclorium (advanced alien element with the properties similar to that of silicone and plastic mixtures). This enables the future of weapon development in an ethical and effective manner. WTF's have been used on the planet to instruct and teach newly disembodied brains the nature of Cortex Command with the so called "dummies" at their disposal. These Facilities or bunkers are owned by WTF and are well supported by Free Trade as it proves a future for weapon sales.

-Technicon
I entirely believe in the use of Technicon by Free Trade as its hired and close relation-ed military force. I can almost see Whitebots guarding every entrance and dock on Trade Star Medias. There may be a few elite Free Trade units guarding the high value areas. (A MUST ADD TO CC -here comes the free trade people dum dum dum duuuu)

-Free Trade
I see them as the money making unknowns that make the rules for the game and wipe out those who don't follow them. Although they aren't the biggest in all of Orian Spur they sure make out the monopoly in the area of planet CC.

I personally wonder what the impact of the massive forces that threaten Free Trade it self will have on innocent little planet cc which is positioned at a relatively safe distance from all the pending attacks at the borders of the OSA.
Interesting.

NEW TOPIC if you please:
Why is planet cc (as it has come to be known) important...
-think about the battle between Mu-ilaak and Uzira
-the ancient race Preus that once roamed the planet
-Free Trades direct interest in this planet
-The value of Gold in the area which would draw factions too this planet.

:) enjoy

Plus, UniTec works with aliens (Zealots)

They don't work with them. Zealots became buyable after Gotcha! abandoned modding. Zealots are enemies of Coalition, and deadly ones at that.

They've been in UniTec for a while, you just had to manually make them buyable as they were more or less easter eggs. Even not counting the Zealots, UniTec (Universal Technology) can be assumed to have alien relations simply through their available merchandise. At least, in my opinion :p

Have you read the story background in the UniTec folder?

Post Re: The WORLD of CC
The "Event":
According to Arne, all the species except crabs were exterminated during some cataclysmic event. The crabs only survived because they could create a cocoon, and they could survive thousands of years inside it like some bacteria. A huge bioweapon had been accidentally detonated on the planet, one that released tiny molecules that annihilated complex carbon compounds. Not only did this destroy all life (save crabs and a few hardy plants) but it also destroyed all of the fuel on the planet. In addition, whatever precursor race detonated it was also wiped out completely.

This event occurred around the time of the fight between Uzira's army and the Mu-ilaak. The Mu-ilaak became dormant or their ships crashed because they were petroleum-powered, and Uzira's force all died with the exception of herself. She managed to stay alive by continually cloning herself through stolen Alchiral vats.

Eventually the bioweapon's effect wore off, and the crabs began to radiate and fill all the many uninhabited niches on the planet, which is why all the life-forms on it are crab-like.

The Gold:
The CC planet has an unusual amount of solid gold in its crust, and though much larger amounts exist in asteroids and planets in the Core, the resources here are more easily mineable and closer to civilization. The primary use of gold is as a neutral coating for nanocircuits, and the massive demand for nanobots in the OAU* brings gold there from nearly any source. (The prospectors on the CC Planet are the equivalent of revolutionary groups today that bring "war diamonds" in to developed countries). Most of the money from gold imports go to either the Ronin or Coalition, with the Dummies stealing their fair share from unprotected reserves.

*Like the Strike Commando, the inhabitants of the OAU (or the ones who can afford it) are mostly cybernetic. They lack circulatory systems or immune systems, instead distributing oxygen and defense nanobots throughout their bodies by fusion-powered pumps. Most OAU citizens also have composite bones and wings, though the soldiers lack the latter in favor of jetpacks. Because of all these modifications, the average lifespan of an OAU citizen is over 2.000 years.

The way I see it is you have your company and your rival. You hate your rival because they take business from you, only in CC they also shoot you and take your money.
Most factions might not even see each other till they are on the same planet competing for the same gold supply.

True, but in detail... For example: the reason why technicon and cmf are in such rage towards each other is because their very nature is somewhat opposite to one another. The physicaly strong, trained and diciplined clones vs the high tech robotics. The replacements of the humanoids (robots), are they the future or will meat forever rull out metal? The same could be said about the cmf and the "darkbots", yet here the darkbots may almost certainly have the uperhand in streangth whistle the cmf wil have 2 use its wits or somethng to survive. The dummies hate all who attack their weapon testing and disembodyment training bunkers scince they believe its what gives them a perpose in life. The ronin only, soley care about three posible things, 1 gold, 2 survival, 3 rebelion of one or other sort. And who ever tampers with those needs will feel the headlessnes brought to them through the help of the peacemaker!

Okay well then heres one for why the dummies hate everyone.

(based on what I read from prom)
The orange dummies were used for testing but, became self aware and escaped.
Being sentient earned them freedom but the company that made them still hunts them down to regain their property. They are also hunted by collectors do to their rarity, rival companies for their tech, and by others just for sport.

Living in a world where nearly everyone is trying to kill or capture them, has made them hostile.
They came to Trade Star for a chance to earn enough money to cover the costs of repairs and, production of new dummies and, secure a future for them selves.
