I second wildlife. Things to defend your base against while having to defend against an enemy would be awesome. Or my original idea, Terrain Infection, is open too...

Hmmm, yeah, I guess it's Wildlife then.
Officially the contest hasn't started, I guess, but work from before the contest started is allowed, so have at it. Don't post it or go public with your idea yet though, CC48 might want to change the way the contests are set up.
I encourage you to make something functionally new and interesting. That's not a requirement of the theme, just a personal suggestion of what I think would be successful.

The contest has started with the theme WILDLIFE!
We'll stick with the current rules for now, and I might gather a judge panel for the next contest. I kinda like the current rating system, even with its flaws.

Yeah, but if no one wants it for this contest, I'd like to give it another go myself, separately from the contest. Plus, I'd like only one mod to be using them, it'd be confusing otherwise.

Anyways glad to hear this theme. Was hoping it would come to this, maybe my subliminal messaging like with my previous suggestion works. Beware Also as a side note I have a few sounds for wildlife if anyone wants to use them.
