Post Few Ideas To Improve Gameplay
Just throwing few ideas here =)

1) Special Deals/Discounts
Once in a while in your buy menu an item name stars to blink. The item with blinking name gets a 25% or 50% discount. After 30 seconds discount disappears and you need to wait 15 seconds for next special deal to appear.

Why i thought it would fit CC is because if i understood it correctly everything comes from trade star which is kind of trade organisation, once in a while they throw those discounts to get more successful deals.
Also, dont you hate when you run out of gold and you wish to send some units back to get refund but you cant order a drop ship. Well now if your lucky you can get a discount on a drop ship =)

2) Contracts/Missions
When you select a brain unit you can access a mission window, where you can accept different contracts which if you complete you will get some amount of gold. Those missions in the mission list appear at random after a while they change.
List of missions i come up with:
-Warfare -Kill #number# enemy troops.
-Warfare -Kill #number# enemy troops using grenades.
-Warfare -Kill #number# enemy troops using diggers.
-Warfare -Destroy #number# enemy drop ships.
-Assassination -Kill enemy brain unit.
-Assassination -Kill #number# enemy troops with headshots.
-Assassination -Kill #number# enemy troops within #number# seconds
-Economics -Harvest #number# gold.
-Economics -Spend #number# gold within #number# seconds.
-Other -Steal #number# enemy troops with your dropship.
-Other -Smash enemy soldier with your drop crate.

So this is my ideas, please share your thought on them, whether you liked them or not, should they be implemented in CC and ways to improve those ideas.

I really like the Discounts/Deals Idea. I think it would fit in perfectly.

Missions within missions... I can't imagine this fitting in smoothly. Sorry.
Getting paid to be doing something you have to be doing anyway to survive? I dunno.
Maybe it would fit in better as an immaterial "achievement", and not something that can
further you, or give you tactical advantage (more money etc.)

But yeah, the discounts thing sounds pretty cool, but would be better if the discounts lasted longer.

I can think of multiple games that really on that alone for their gameplay, is there any other thing in zombie survival games? Do you get paid for that stuff in RPG's?

Just springs to mind: Mercenaries 2, Blow ♥♥♥♥ up to pay for bigger ♥♥♥♥ to blow ♥♥♥♥ up pretier and faster.

I actually like both idea's, but the discount thing is the most fitting with the current CC setting.

So any ideas how to improve discount system ?

Maybe one discount on an item in each tab or random 3 items ?

I also had an idea that discount varies depending on item cost the more item cost the less discount you get, the less item cost the bigger is discount. Why Less=More and More=Less, well more costy items will be more affected by percentage of discounts so that we wont get overboard with those special deals i think it should be made that way. (i dont want to buy some planet killer for 1$ :grin: )

And for the contracts, to make digging gold still a viable option i suggest making the maximum amount of gold gained for a mission is 100, varying on mission difficulty. + you can only accept one contract at a time.

The discount idea is good, it would prod people towards using a variety of weapons instead of the same old stuff.

Discounts is a very good idea, though it'll only have any weight if currency actually means anything in B24.

Ok , ive have a few ideas on how to improve Gameplay but there more to do with Units and sceans so bare with me.

Idea #1 you ever had that problum with dropships when trying to land them in that nice and new hanger of yours that you just put in to see how it works and then you find out that theres theses things to keep the Dropship in the hanger , but when you hit stay and fly it in.

It crashs and blows up turning that awsome hanger in to a pile of rumbble well here is my idea.

Basicly you would hit stay on your dropship which would make it fly to your hanger which when it gets above your hanger the engions on your dropship would power down and two gravity beams would power up and slowly guide your dropship down to your hanger which at that point two arms would grab the dropship and lock it in to place and then the hanger doors would close.

now if you would want to do take off well basicly the hanger bay doors would open up the arms that had lock your dropship into place would lift it up untill the gravity beams would take hold lifting it up in the air and at that point the engions on this dropship would turn on and the gravity beams would power down.

Idea #2 you ever wounder if there was a day and night cycle? so you would see the sun rise and set?

this idea basicly explanes it self.

idea #3 you ever thought about wouldn't it be greated if i could get up this shaft ive put in my base? well my idea is basicly two put an elevator which could stop at each floor or when theres an opening in the shaft say like this corrior moves off to the "Master Mind Brain room" and ect also the elevator would be able to low its self to the very bottom so troops can get on and then cycle up to the top if needs more concpet to it.

Idea #4 Weather , have you ever wounder if it rain? what if it snowed? what if it ran cats and dogs?
well my idea is simple real time weather in game such as rain , storms and whatever else goses around weather...

Idea #5 my next idea is something that ive seen people have been working on for a while ive just simply add a few little things , have you ever wish that you could go online with Cortex commander and Vs other players online? well my idea works on this idea.

My idea is this simple basicly you would have one planet and you would have many regions on this planet where players could fight for areas and if you had a friend online and you wanted to well say lets team up? you could attack one region but you wouldn't be able to base because your attacking it (we shell try to improve on that later) anyway you would come down in dropships, rockets ,moible bases and slowly but surely over run this player or A.i player and after which you have destory his brain or A.i Leader you claim the region which gives you time to set up a base and do whatever you want in whatever time is given to set up a base and use your resources to builded whatever you feel free as long as you don't get in a fight with your friend on who claims the region or you share it?

Now lets do it from the other side say if you have Claim a region and you have a base set up and someone else and his friend come down in dropships and drop a moible base and started attacking you , well you fight back... This part explanes it self.

Idea #6 This idea is a moible base , its something thats drop from orbit or that can be builded in your base and lifted to the surface, but anyway a moible base is a 6 legged base with 3 legs on each side with 4 auto turrents and a small Pulse cannon on top to fight out attacks anyway a moible base can be loaded up with troops and vehicles , which can be deployed in Mid-air or when you hit the surface after which your troops and vehicles drive and run out and started taking your orders but remmbure if the enemy destorys your moible base your dead because for some odd reason someone loaded your brain in there without asking you...

Idea #7 Vehicles could be anything from Air - land - Water and well this part you think about.

Idea #8 Auto Turrents , auto turrents can be drop from orbit or builded in your base and move to the surface to be assembled by a engineer or engineers, i have also thorght about this one so i think there should be moible auto turrents and stationery turrents and maby turrents that float on warter for shooting down thoses boats and then finding out theres a sub shooting at you...

Idea #8 trasporters ive place a few trasports in my base and seen that they don't work as well as i thourght so here is my idea you know how when you open up a dropship or a Storeage crate it sucks whatevers near in, i think trasports should be more like that just click it and it opens and sucks whatevers near in untill you close the trasporter.

i think thats about it untill i think of more , and yes there shell be more...

Idea #9 Shields , ive been thinking about this and i think its a good idea shields that can be set up that are like one-way doors your troops go out there troops walk in to it and well turn to ash.

Theses shields can be set up anywhere in your base and on the surface as long as theres a generator running them ( I think this idea may have to be improve too stop people from place generators deep underground and power all the sheilds they want)

Idea#10 Upgrades and Exp, i think there should be an upgrade system so you select a unit and cilck the upgrade menu and it would have all the upgrades for this unit for this ill pick a auto turret lets just say i select my pulse cannon auto turret and select the upgrade menu it would bring up the menu and ill just pick out what i wanted say ill just select guilded missle addon for my pulse cannon which would be drop from a dropship and take from there to be builded in your base workshop or lab and assembled by a engineer or engineers and then taken to the surface to be added on to your pulse cannon and at the point well the enemy can forget about attacking your base on monday...

experience system is something that i was thinking about say if you have a unit just the basic one and it fights and takes out a large amount of units well in the corse of doing that it would learn as all good A.i dose and after a while it becomes pretty good at taking out raiding partys , well this unit can be taken down to your lab or workshop and have its experience download and added to your other A.i units so all your units become better not just one.

Idea#11 labs and workshops , im still thinking about the name but anyway the lab/workshop is a area in which things can be builded and assembled by engineers this module would also be able to take objects that you have called down from orbit and pice them togher also lab/workshop would be able to take units that you have created outside of the game and import them into the game.

just expanding on this idea alittle you can also upload your creations when your not playing on campain or skirmish

But just a side note on this "Outside world" when your creating objects please don't created objects that would make the game unfair for the Poor A.i bot or whatever user is on the other side they have feelings too well the player dose not the A.i bot.

Idea #12 Air Strikes you ever thorght about blowing up your enemy units as they walk along the surface?
but when you select a dropship to drop a few bombs on them you don't get the damage you want? well i think there should be a Strike Button in the menu which would allow you to use a air strike or a orbit bombardment.

Idea #13 Personal Shields, its an concpet idea were the unit that picks up this item would have a personal shield that would Protect him or her from incomeing fire untill the shield is depleted of energy which at that point you only have to take the unit to a medical/recharge station were you can recharge the item which takes about 15 seconds.

Idea #14 Medical/Recharge Station , this is a small little station thing that can be place at the end of corridors.

This station is the most simply thing to use you just move the item towards it and it will automaitly charge and heal your unit.

Idea #15 this idea is a simple idea have you ever wanted to upload your own music in to a inbuilded player in the game? well if this player were to be added in builded 24 you would just open the game goto options and select upload music (this means you have to find your music in whatever folder you place it you can either upload in bulk or one by one) the game would then move it to a file in the game folder called custom music and then after the upload is done after which you can just press Ctrl+m and a menu small menu would come up and you just have to select in which order you want your music to play or if you want it to played randomly (Randomly for thoses who don't it just picks out any music)

Idea #16 if this game ever gets online , i think we will need a voice chat system that allows you to talk to your friends in the chat lobby and also allows you to select clan talk and then you can talk to your clan or team in Voice chat.

Ingame settings would be a little like this you just press Ctrl+v which would bring up a menu which would allow you to select voice chat beween your team your clan or even your enemy for whatever reason you want to talk your enemy or enemys...

Idea #17 ive got a few ideas on how the Brain Bunker Module can be improved , ive seen that the module can be breach very quickly if your off - guard so i think a thick Door with a shield should be added as a addon or as part of it i also think that a auto turret should be place inside the module thats only aim at the door to fire at attackers which may try and kill you.

Idea #18 this is something i hate the most , you can't really clean up your bunker and repair doors and systems so heres something i think should be added a small flying bot that can fix doors and clean up the scrap metal that would other wise just lay in your base for all time unless you destory it.

now your think this scrap metal what should be done with that good point , good sir i know you haven't said anything yet but you will the scrap metal i think should be trasported by this bot to a room that melts down the metal so it can be re - use for your workshop/lab.

As fun as "I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA FOR CC EVER" threads are, they virtually never result in any kind of productive discussion; everyone has a different idea of what's best for CC and no one will ever really agree on anything.

Let's try and keep this a productive thread, rather than a "lol I had the best idea ever in a dream last night" thread. Discuss ideas already posted.

IMO CC still hasn't decided whether it wants to be an action platformer or a strategy game. Until that is defined better gameplay speculation is muddied at best.
