   |   I've been wondering if these two things are relatedI recently turned off GetsHitByMOs for the default brain, which in turn also turned it off for any mod including a brain that was a copy of it. After doing this, I've noticed that in the middle of me playing, my brain will just die. No gibs, no explosions. It just dies. I then fail the game obviously. Does turning off GetsHitByMOs cause bugs with the brain possibly?

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedIf you're using the default brain, I'm not entirely sure what would cause it. However, one thing I can tell you is that when GetsHitByMOs is turned off, a brain no longer has an MOID. In Lua code, this means that certain functions think the brain doesn't exist. Maybe a mod is doing this to your brain because it thinks it's out of life?

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedActually, TLB, it's helpful that you responded. I've been using your slow-motion brain. Do you think that's what's been causing it? I don't have any knowledge of lua so it would be hard for me to check.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedIn the brains-ini or whatever make a copy of regular brain, call it unhittable brain and set getshitbymos=0 on it, simple fix.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedI can't think of anything in the slow motion brains that would cause that. It's also possible you're using too many actors, as that can cause similar problems to what you're describing.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedWell, I usually only have about 1 actor on my team, but considering I'm not constantly killing the other team, they could get to a pretty high amount of people.
Edit: Was just playing a game. The brain dying happened when I was in slow motion for an extended period of time.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedThat could very well be a problem with the way slow motion is done (through the DeltaTime variable). Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about that.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedWell, it's completely fine. I turned it back to getting hit, and now everything is fine. If you could lock this, it would be great.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedTLB, you might want to put a little heads up in your mod letting people know that this will happen.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedSo there should be a large text disclaimer saying that IN THE EVENT THAT YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE MODIFIED YOUR BRAIN TO BE UNHITTABLE AND ALSO LIKE TO USE SLOW MOTION AN AWFUL LOT ON A PROBABLY NOT ALL THAT GREAT COMPUTER (BUT A COMPUTER STILL GOOD ENOUGH TO RELIABLY RUN CC) YOUR BRAIN MAY EXPLODE IRRATIONALLY
what do you work for, a US government safety board?

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedUhh I'm not really good with computers but that sound reasonable to me. TLB's trademark crashes are really inconvenient and a heads-up letting me know that his mods are probably the cause would be nice. In fact I do believe TLB does warn people about crashes, so, you know...
Actually I don't know how the layman would be able to figure out the two are related at all, which is relevant as making unhittable brains is a fairly common personal mod.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedSince this is the only guy who's experienced it, I'm pretty sure it was something involving a conflict with another mod, actually. That, or something computer-specific, which has also happened in the past. If other people say it's a problem, I'll put up a warning, but at this point it seems like it'll just confuse people.

   |   Re: I've been wondering if these two things are relatedIt would probably be best to stick at the top of the forum this warning:Random events involving exploding bodies, brains, and weapons may occur during normal gameplay without mods. The frequency and likelihood of such will increase if you add any mod, especially mods that involve copious amounts of Lua and/or TheLastBanana Awesome Extract.
