Post Should I even release my mission?
...When it's done. I've finished the intro, which is like a cutscene at the beginning, and I'm working on everything else. It has custom everything from sounds and music to sprites to animated objects. People do more than just talk in cutscenes, too. It's intended to have humor, including portal, monty pyton, and other funny references and a few instances of breaking the fourth wall, etc.

However, the plotline is retarded. Not like bad, unrealistic retarded, but just stupid. It's about Dimitri (Ronin with brown hair) waking up to his birthday cake having been stolen by the Coalition. To find it, he must infiltrate the Coalition fortress and steal it back using his pie powers. Dimitri has mastered the sacred art of pie throwing, giving him infinite pies to aid him against his enemies.

I plan to have a boss battle, too, but the plot is still retarded.

Do you think I should even bother to release it when I'm done?

Release it when it is done. We need more missions. Even though the plot is a bit weird, it is still nice to see something different in cortex command. My plot in exodus isn't that original either

I don't believe originality is really the problem here.
However, I think you should release it if you wish. If people don't like it, then I guess they don't have to play it.

The plot will add into the humor, just make sure to include a joke about it somewhere showing that you recognize it's ridiculousness.

Why the hell wouldn't you release a scene? Make sure there's a bit of action and you can basically do whatever the hell you want and it'll be a good scene.

Well, people seem to be enthusiastic about it, which is great! I've been being a serious perfectionist, so it might not be out for a while. I'll do PM-based beta testing once I have a decent unrefined prototype, since I don't want to release outdated copies to the general population. I'm not promising any release dates yet though...

Currently I've finished the intro, checkpoints, and the tutorial screen. Next I'll be working on the real content of the first stage.

EDIT: It appears people believe I already have a beta version ready. I said "I'll do PM-based beta testing once I have a decent unrefined prototype". I'm not ready quite yet. I I'mcould be finished with the first part in a week, or maybe even a month. I don't know. I'm really glad people are supporting this though; I thought I'd be shunned by the CC community, lol...

I would love to beta test, and don't worry about the plot, weirder stuff has been accepted and loved.

Please, not yet! I'm not done with the beta yet! It's not finished! I will make a new thread for beta testers when it's done!

EDIT: Here it is!
