   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadIm proud of my fort. Its in a unattackable location with fresh water, underground farm for food, large veins of Bituminious coal, and lots of ore. I mean insane ammounts, Theres so much magnetite im gonna use it to make a god damn pyramid on the surface where I will entomb my greatest war heroes.
Or lacking war heroes Il put nobles into to give them a great send off into the next life.

I cant play DF without sprites. Theres a guide on how to do it on the DF Wiki, it comes with most sprite packs. May I recommend Mike Mayday's sprite pack? Looks very nice.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadAnyone wanna trade starting builds? Mine tend to be more short-term focused, and I never get what I need from migrants. Skill sets would be especially useful.

I've got a WIP one for scary areas, doesn't have bolts or crossbow though, you'll need to add them.http://pastebin.com/tPYPRVsU Most of the time I just let my dudes train up from nothing if we don't have a skill. Bringing a dedicated metalworker is about as far as I plan ahead, I draft most of my migrants and run a 20-strong fort.

You don't really need anything else for the beginning, since you'll have plenty of food and drink available and 4 though bastards to fend anything off.

I'm kind of disappointed with my site, I've finally reached magma at -70 or 80, don't really recall, and no caves at all.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadWhy is it so important to have skilled workers? I just take whoever I want and make them do whatever I need and after a couple seasons they'll be hella skilled at their job.
