Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
I converted an island into a home, with built-in mine, and small tree farm. Would this set up work for growing trees? (Imagine it goes on and on)
Wall - Torch - Tree - Torch - Torch - Tree Wall - Torch - Torch - Torch - Torch - Torch Wall - Torch - Torch - Torch - Torch - Torch Wall - Torch - Tree - Torch - Torch - Tree
Cow = Leather. Surely that is justification for my brutal killing sprees? They sound cute, I feel bad.
EDIT: Turns out no. You need a full 2 space gap between shrubs to grow trees.

It's only what... £12000... $19000... in a day... Now I know why he works every day. He has the cash cow, and the milk won't stop flowing.
EDIT: Don't place wall torches where a tree might grow. One of the massive ones will nuke it... I lost a whole wall of torch. There goes the non-renewable coal... I want glowing mushrooms! Everything must be renewable!

Closer to 3-4pm, I think. Still, the server should be released at some point this week, so I'm happy.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
There are rumors of some sort of powered minecart for today, on the blog comments.
Personally I'm hoping it's the MP server, but I can wait.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Isn't there something similar to MineCraft that could do Multiplayer?
I'm almost certain I've played it before...

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Minecraft. It used to just be blocks, placed and deleted. Now you have items, and mobs, and health and stuff. Or Infiniminer. Or Blockland.
My normal mining is to randomly dig tunnels into stone. This time, I'm digging a straight down ~5*5 hole. Hopefully this works better.

I'm almost certain I've played it before... You're probably thinking of Infiniminer, a game that was made a while back (roughly a year) but abandoned shortly after and released open-source. Notch liked the idea enough to make a Java game that's thematically similar but a whole lot more complex.

9*7 tunnel dug to the lowest Z level. Came across 4 gold ores, 12 Irons, 3 Red Ore and a shedload of coal. Didn't run into any caverns, or fluids.
Next up, 6*6!
Papyrus should burn. It's much easier to farm than wood. I need cheap fuel... do chickens burn?
