Re: Concept art
I do indeed agree that the last post gave the impression of rudeness. Anyway, I don't really think people would mind that much if you replaced some of the sprites.

Re: Concept art
Isn't the Imperatus the faction of the white pope dude (and his minions) from the intro screens? Like in imperial rome and the pope and all and the forces doing everything in the name of god and all those thingies. That makes the most sense to me.

Re: Concept art
Apparently not, as it is here used to refer to what we previously called the whitebots.

Re: Concept art
Nonono, the Techions are the whitebots.
Also, Imperatus sounds pretty evil too...

Re: Concept art
Right. Apologies. The name imperatus is used to refer to what we previously called the blackbots.

Re: Concept art
It's entirely possible they were originally intended to be. They are going to be their own faction now though, apparently.

Re: Concept art
The Imperatus faction looks like the guy on the far right. They are bright red in color and act like terminators (according to some other concept art that I can't seem to find at the moment).

Actually I'm pretty sure Data referred to them as the red guys.

Re: Concept art
oh so imperatus = blackbots = robot 1 & 2, never knew they were called blackbots, but that makes sense i guess, since the text under the pope guy's intro slide is "at the end of humans darkest century".

Re: Concept art
Hey guys, it might seem interesting to post every facet of your cognitive process as you work out what each of the names mean, but I find it a poor substitute for discussion.
I'm interested in how the turrets are going to be implemented. I think the ACrab class needs extensive reworking and/or fixing to be properly usable for turrets like that, as pinned, invisible-limbed ACrabs still behave weirdly when "ragdolling". It'd be nice for those constraints to have a scaler (the AHuman vertical angle constraint would benefit from this as well, it's too springy at the moment).
Still wondering what your stance on effects in CC are Arne.. In your drawings there always seems to be the dramatic smoke etc but the rocket flames in-game are actually quite minimal.
