Trying my hand at the Techion (Whitebots) Logo. I personally think it sucks. If you couldn't guess, its a WIP. With or without gradient, and other critisism? EDIT: Please note, look at those pictures in a new tab or on some other colour, because you can't see the border here. And your really missing out

I'd say without. I think the simplicity reflects better on their style. Be sure your anti aliasing is applicable to the background color for any actual applications though. Those white pixels along the edges looks bad.

Those white pixels along the edges looks bad. Yep I knew about the AA, it just happens that those little bits are very transparent-white-ish, so I missed them. Like I said, its a WIP. There's also a border around the whole thing, but its hard to see. Seems a little harsh and Holier-than-thou, but I don't see any flames. A harsh critique normally makes them improve A LOT or send them away crying, never to try again. Either way, it gets rid of bad art (not that CC48's art is bad, quite the opposite, just globally across-the-internet-wise bad art) Also, it looks like there is a halo above the pillow.

I'm usually not that great at adding detail to sprites when I don't have a referance (you can call it lack of imagination). I appreciate the critique, and will keep in mind the stuff you said. I don't like the striped pillow, though, and the outlines on the edges of the blanket look too heavy. Or maybe that's just because the frame's outline is too light... My current mental spriting checklist: Shape Color Shading Outline -- I always forget this one Detail -- new Contrast -- newOh and how do you measure lum? I'm guessing it is a unit of contrast, right?
