Now, changing the subject, does it look alright?

I think the yellow triangular thing in the center of the sprite is a cockpit. If it is a cockpit, then you need to sprite an' shade to change "I think" to "I know," meaning more detail and refining. Also, not sure what those two wing-like things are at the bottom, and they look kind of bland compared to the box-things.

I love the boxes.

What do you think of my latest ZF-1 sprite(s)?

DXP: The perspective seems a little bit confused over the whole sprite. I mean, it's head on, but it seems like it's not sure whether it's iso, or flat, or what.

Great detailing, though.

Cavecricket: Loving the ZF-1. That weapon has been craved by people on these forums for years now, hope you can do it justice.

More detail on the wing things? I think i can handle that.

Maybe i should give you a dropship sprite made of boxthings.

And uh, how would you make the cockpit look more lie a cockpit.

edit:

Better or worst?

And for people like MLC who goes of a whitelist system and is blocked from image shack, heres the .bmp

I think the wings would look better if the arrows on them were pointing forward.

Is the cockpit supposed to look like it's covering part of the hull, or the hull is covering part of the cockpit? You could use some shading along the edges of the cockpit to make it easier to tell.

The "panels" directly under the left and right of the cockpit, they could get slightly darker as they back.

Overall, it's better.

Post Re: Sprite Help Thread
Hullo, new spriter here, i decided to take on a full faction project to keep me occupied for the summer (5 characters, somewhere between 5 and 7 weapons) and in this project i've decided to sprite a few real guns (2 of which i own). Now, i tried to stay true to realism, and that includes the size (roughly calculated from the '20 pixels to a meter' rule) so a few of my first guns are a little small, any constructive feedback on this winchester 1300 would be lovely. I am certainly looking to improve (this project is my very first attempt at pixel art.)

my pixel art and a reference picture: not the one i used

Try getting rid of or toning down on the white parts on the stock. It looks like you were either trying to anti-alias or highlight. In the former case you should know that anti-aliasing isn't that great an idea when the background is going to change and in the latter case the highlighting is rather extreme and will look odd when it is facing down.

alright, i'll work on that thank you, and actually i was trying to anti-alias, but i made the sprite out of palette and imported it into the palette, it ended up going into that color, i'll fix it up a tad, otherwise how's the shading? through lurking i've found that to be a pretty big deal, personally i think it's okay but i'd like to hear other peoples' opinions

The outline looks fairly jagged, and the geometry still isn't very clear, but it's not that bad.

Both of them have been too small to be a dropship for carrying troops (I assume that's what they are for), also your colour choices have been kinda bad in terms of contrast.

They were meant to be bombers, though i do see your point with the colours.

It's pretty good.

Only nitpick, and I hate to do this, but, I wonder how well the light-grays and bright colors will contrast against the default CC background.

The perspective of the wings looks strange. They also don't seem to be shaded like the rest of the sprite.

Besides the wings, it looks great.
