Re: Force-Based MO Grappling Gun *UPDATE
I must say how incredibly satisfying it is to blow a hapless AHuman apart by pulling on him in two different directions. Tough to pull off, and usually takes a few minutes, but the result is simply awesome.

Re: Force-Based MO Grappling Gun *UPDATE
Aha, yet another good grappling hook to add to my long list of grappling hooks. Here's some ideas since you asked:
Tie Down/Weight Mode: First shot is the hook, second shot fires a heavy weight that the hook is connected to.
Leech Mode: Once fired at an enemy actor it takes one point from the enemy, adds it to your hp per sec.
Link smash Mode: Once fired at two different targets, it quickly shortens the line smashing the two objects (or one object vs terrain).

Tazer line, it tazes one target, until you sever the connection, the wire is very fragile, and doesn't go very far. Zipline, just attach it to an existing rope, and WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Rocket-chute, just activate, and it sends you in the direction you are pointing, and others upwards.

Congrats CC48, for hatching another EPIC FUN device shenanigan! Ideas, you say? well...
-Grenade Launcher version: It sticks to a target, and on the other end, five grenades. Auto-reel. Then sit down and watch the gib rain.
-Remember the killer vine trap?
-Anchor missile. Make a missile launcher that launches an otherwise normal looking missile that seeks. But when it impacts with an actor, it deploys its payload, which is a weight on a rope. Make the weight heavy enough and you could theoretically chain them like the war-dogs they are, or watch in horror as they use the weight as makeshift flails (if maybe attached to a dropship powerful enough)

CaveCricket, I love it immensely. I've been trying to do this for ages, and this is precisely the effect I was attempting.

Re: Force-Based MO Grappling Gun *UPDATE
There are going to be 2 grappling guns in this mod. One will have the "normal" modes in it, standard mode (what you have now) and the link mode, and a second grappling gun which will have the modes that you guys suggest that are more for offense. The Spelunker is going to be the "normal" grappling gun, but I can't think of a name for the "special" grappling gun. Current modes planned for the "Normal" Grappling Gun: -Standard Mode -Link Mode - Connect 2 objects to eachother or an object to terrain -Spring Mode (like the Spring Mode in the TF Grappling Gun, except will probably be more dangerous) Current modes planned for the "Special" Grappling Gun: -Standard Mode (every grappling gun needs a standard mode) -Shock Mode - Works like standard mode, but leeches health from the target and paralyzes it. -Electro Barrier Mode - Fire 2 hooks that have an electrically charged wire, shocks anything that touches the wire. -Link Smash Mode - Connects to objects together or an object to terrain, and then smashes the two together. -Weight Shot Mode - Fires a hook with a weight attached to the rope. -Bomb Smash Mode - Fires a hook with a bomb attached to the rope. The rope will shorten untill the bomb gets close enough to the attached thing, and then BOOM. Name ideas for the "Special" Grappling Gun appreciated. Link mode is also being worked on, it's mostly done but a few bugs need to be worked out. Edit: I was also thinking: Nets anyone?

Re: Force-Based MO Grappling Gun *UPDATE
A rocket mode sounds good. Hook 1 goes in an actor. You can now adjust the length of the rope. Hook 2 is a rocket. When fired, drags the other person along, at the length of rope you selected before.
