Re: Sprite Help Thread
Looks a bit too smooth and could use some non-orange outline parts too, like red or purple ones.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
They need more conical shading, as of now, they look like paper cutouts. Some darker colors might suit them well, but that's my opinion.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Your shapes are using anti-aliasing.. HORRIBLY BAD to do that, well with the outlines that is. fix em up so they have a bit of a rougher edge so that they dont have a weird pink outline ingame..

Re: Sprite Help Thread
How about you do it by hand instead of anti-aliasing at all. It helps if you do things pixel by pixel.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
In games like Cortex Command you never know what's going to be behind the image, so you can't really use AA beyond the outline. (If only we had transparency...) You shrunk the image! Now it should be easier to polish it and improve it. The colors jump from yellowy-orange to orange in the farther back flowers, is the a color change of some kind?

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Added more outlining, I think it's pretty much done now. Bottom two are the latest ones. I might add some camo effects.

I used a program to resize the original so the AA is a bug that I'll try to fix CrazyMLC wrote: In games like Cortex Command you never know what's going to be behind the image, so you can't really use AA beyond the outline. Re: Sprite Help Thread
Why not just make the boxy bits at the top the engines?

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Don't make the engines rotate, just make invisible emitters with visible jets so the thrust rotates.

That would work. Now, changing the subject, does it look alright?
