Full-time web development happened. It'll start up again, no worries.

Re: Mod Database
Someone posted something new? And it has over 300 downloads? I'm inspired again.

Re: Mod Database
It's half of what I intended it to be used for. It still tracks downloads and ratings and such. It would be stupid to try to compete with the forums for discussion about a mod.

SneakyMax wrote: Yeah, yeah, double post, so ban me. B& Very nice, very nice indeed. Now you just need more uploaders, though the one mod that's a mod db exclusive has gotten you lots of traffic looks like.

Re: Mod Database
I can't seem to upload images when attampting to add a new mod. Either that or it takes a very long amount of time to load.

Re: Mod Database
You should add links to the main site, devlog and the forums somewhere on the page. Likewise, there should be a more visible link to cortexmods.com from the forums aswell, similar to the devlog link. Front page of the site could also use something cool. Perhaps something like this: Code: Welcome to the Cortex Command Mods Database
[PICTURE AND TEXT UNDER IT OF LATEST MOD HERE IN A FRAME IN THE MIDDLE]
[DESCRIPTION OF CORTEXMODS.COM]
[GUIDE OR LINK TO GUIDE ON INSTALLING MODS] A modding guide or link to guides on making a mod would also be helpful, but there are no complete tutorials that would suffice to put up on the site as it is. I had been making one, but as there might be some heavy changes in official content, theres not much point in making it at this moment, unless you are very bored, that is.

Re: Mod Database
Good idea, I'll do that.
CC, I'm not sure. Gotcha was able to upload images fine. I wouldn't be surprised if it was my server, though. See if they'll upload after a couple minutes.
Looking at the net tab in firebug to check the ajax request could help in debugging, too.

Re: Mod Database
ZoneAlarm dislikes your site... says its "questionable" which is, of course, poppycock.
I love it... altough the homepage is a bit lacking... you should make some story like this: In the beginning, Cortex Command was without shape, and void. Data said, "LET THERE BE TERRAIN!", and there was terrain. He said "LET THERE BE ACTORS!!!", and there were actors milling about the world. He said "LET THERE BE GUNS!!!!", and all the little actors received guns. He said "LET THERE BE BATTLE!", and all the actors starting shooting each other. He said "LET THERE BE BLOOD, GORE, AND OVERALL DESTRUCTION!!!", and ♥♥♥♥ started blowing up. He liked his creation, and submitted it to betatesters.. who all said " It is good, but there is something lacking...". Data also noticed, and said "LET THERE BE... MODS!!!"

Epic, add it Add possibility to view all mods uploaded by selected author. P.S. Like the overal design of the CortexMods, simple and easy to use.

Re: Mod Database
you know what you should do sneaky... you should put a few ads on it using Google Ads... then you can get some profit off the website!

Re: Mod Database
Make money? With google ads? BAhahahaaahahahahahahahahaa
with the amount of traffic from a site that localized (and the fact that any clicks on the google ads will almost surely be mistaken clicks) a google ad listing on the mod db would be lucky to make ten cents a month
I mean, okay, take the already low number of people who play Cortex Command, then take only the people who regularly browse the forums, then take only the people who download mods often, then take only the people who use the Mod DB to download mods.
That's going to be less than a hundred people, absolutely guaranteed.
