Trying to get into spriting, basically by ripping the ends off of guns and transforming them into different things. This has the handle from the revolver cannon, but I borrowed the Darkstorm Grenade clip to make a uber nade tube.

Tell me how it's going. It might be too small, I'm not sure.

Here you go, The support was too far from the handle. Always note that if you want a functional looking weapon. And the barrel was a little long, had to compress the gun a bit.. Some borders improved, sprinkled with a dose of my style and.. Here you go :)

Hope it looks good to you.

Doesn't really look like the ref images at all :P
If you want it to look like an arctic sniper, do the white dress first, then the hood.

The head looks like Optimus Prime and I like the chestpiece. Visor color=cool. Sorry I can't criticize it technically cause I lack the proficiency to do so! :D

Flatness is intended, but not.. that flat. It supposed to have a boxy look to it. I am working on the sprites now though so they dont look as flat..

Shouders were better in previous one, thought. Now they look a bit too flat. But anyway the overall actor is very good!

Looks sexy. I think your faction is getting a little bloated, though.

I've made a plasma cannon with custom sprites, sound, everything, but the sprite isn't nice. It's my first sprite. The coil in the front isn't clear at all, and it overall has a few problems with shading and such. What can I do to improve it?

For the coil, try making the pixels adjacent to the coil's pixels closer to the colour of the coil, as if the coil is impinging on those pixels, but not completely dominating them.

I was thinking about that, but I didn't know what would happen, since each coil has only two pixels of grey between them. I think it would just reduce the contrast of each coil because it would just turn the whole barrel more blue.
