Another thing you see alot in design is having the with minimum clutter, just what you average user
wants to see linked with pretty pictures like here. keeping it uncluttered makes it more attractive.

Dude, he's talking about the overall design, not just the layout . I know the by him saying "I prefer" he must have been thinking the drawings were a more than just an idea of the design, but he's expressing that he likes the pixel one so its a valid reply.

Anyways, I also agree with the two faded bars design, without the faded bars it's hard to tell what it represents, I also think the gameboy-esque colour scheme is fitting with the name/logo, however the pink colour scheme is a bit weird (aka I dislike it). As for the site layout it's good but I think you should make a few different mockups, otherwise its kinda hard to make any judgement on it until its done.

Also, agree with geti, wtf is up with people uploading images as bmps all over the forums, I can't see full-view unless I download and I'm not ♥♥♥♥ downloading just to see a couple of images when every other sensible person is uploading as png, and even better on an image hosting site so that they can embed the image into the post, if you don't know any good image host then I suggest you use this: http://www.cubeupload.com/

personally i use a .blogspot as an image dump and mod db for animated gifs

tinypic or deviantart depending on the purpose of the upload (do I want to dump it on forums or get artistic criticism/contribute to my portfolio (which is in dire need of clearing out))

Fair enough, I'll try to do that tonight but I've got a lot of work to do <_< It's a shame you don't like the pink/violet, I was looking for some contrast.. I'll play with some more colour schemes I guess, cheers.

messing with my scanner. Seems I got it working again. It was making horrible noises when I pulled it out of the shitheap. Disassembled the demon machine and moved around on some mechanical parts. Looks like it is a live yet again!
