Can't take in mind the minority and ignore the majority. If you have a screen with a smaller res than 1280x1024 then 'Ctrl' + '-'. As of the size of everything (Buttons, etc.), I am going to make it smaller overall.

Re: Mod Database
A website should also be accessible to everyone. If a marketing website has a non-backwards compatible website (meaning older hardware or software cannot use it.) then not every visitor to the website will even be able to purchase something. This isn't a marketing website, but the same principle applies. And even if most computers have large enough screens, who says that they'll have their browser take the whole screen up? I myself usually have it in a window. MaximDude, your ideas are all major modifications and stuff. I think it can be achieved later, but a major revamp of the site probably isn't simple to pull off. I'd recommend suggesting small changes. Attachment:

Re: Mod Database
Text links with a little bit of decoration are the way to go, imo (IE, like what MLC posted). The simplicity lends itself well to a database, where the focus is not on the vehicle for the mods but the mods itself.

CaveCricket48 wrote: SneakyMax, could you make screen shots of the mod full scale when viewing the mod? If it gets too big, maybe it can go under the description. The screenshot method is going to be completely revamped pretty soon. I could do a quick change right now so that clicking on the screenshot would open a full view of it, though.

Re: Mod Database
Actually, I'd rather that. Have a thumbnail that links to a full image, so you could go logo -> screenshot
CLARIFICATION: Make them two seperate uploads, like two seperate images for the mods.

Re: Mod Database
I'm not going to bother with adding a temporary "second screenshot" when I'm just going to make it unlimited screenshots in the future, with a much better interface.
Update: CrazyMLC's design changes, and the images on mod pages link to the full image.
Could someone come up with a better design for the sorting? It's pretty ugly.
Edit: Got the domain, too (they're fairly cheap). cortexmods.com. Not sure when it'll propagate to your DNS servers, could be a couple days.
Update 2: Ratings are done!
I was thinking about what I want to do before a forumwide "Please please post your mods on here!", and that is,
a) Get a mod version control system up. If modders can keep track of their versions and add new ones, they will be much more likely to use it.
b) Get a much better formatting for the descriptions of mods. Why would a modder want to post on the db if they can format it nicely on the forums? Perhaps a simple/advanced mod page, that the modder can choose. I was thinking about having a full HTML editor, but that might have the chance of abuse.
c) Get the multiple screenshots thing up, with a nice javascript rotator to power them. The forums can't do this, and it would look very nice.
Opinions?

Text looks like it's screwed up in the mod browsing list.

Re: Mod Database
Oh, one thing I haven't thought of until now, an optional field for release license. I don't know how popular it would be, but it would be easier for me to release everything under creative commons.

Edit:I've got a database set up for you and an ftp account to the directory. It's hosted by hostgator(see: fastest you're going to get reliably). Jump on irc.rizon.net #drlchat or give me your email so I can send you the information securely.

Re: Mod Database
Four whole days, that was a good run.
It would be a shame if this turns out that isn't being worked on any more. What's going on?
