Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
I'd prefer it if they hadn't announced their intention to continue the stupid "good armies vs evil ones on a team" concept from the Warhammer fantasy MMO for PvP.
They're all meant to be evil! There's not supposed to be good armies! Learn your own lore!

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
Wait, they're putting the 'evil' and 'good' races on teams? That's even worse than dividing them into good and evil.

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
A major point of the backstory is that everyone hates everyone else and would under no circumstances team up, so they'd better change their minds before release.

I thought it was possible to have alliances of convenience for the races, but only if there was no other option

The Imperial Guard and Space Marines teamed up in the game, unless that changed later in the storyline. I didn't get very far. But then again, those are both human.

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
They're pretty much the only guys that'd even consider teaming up. And only if the alternative is eating the emperor. Even then, half the time the factions within each of the races don't get along well enough to focus enemies. Especially Chaos and Orks.

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
The Imperial Guard and the Space Marines are all a part of the Imperium, so they're always on the same team by default. Of course, when the Marines purge a planet and kill every living thing on it as a last resort the IG of said planet aren't so friendly to them.
It varies a bit with every Marine Chapter and Guard Regiment too though.

Tau + Eldar Dark Eldar + chaos Chaos marines + daemons of chaos space marines + imperial guard + inquisition/greyknights/sisters-of-battle also the 'nids have no reason to fight necrons, because they have no biomass, and the necrons have no reason to fight because 'nids wouldn't have souls for the ctan to eat. Tau side with everyone who won't stab them in the back Eldar side with anyone or use manipulation to work side by side with - anyone who will result in the destruction of the necrons and/or tyrannids. if you count the first dawn of war, and I think winter assault, guard + eldar, Orks + chaos, and oddly enough, orks + orks. Lets not forget that the Eldar made the golden throne, and modified the tau to make them as they are. let's not forget that the Adeptus Mechanicus in part worship the void dragon, a ctan, and thus necron. theoretically mechanicus + necron could work because so little of them is left alive. and on top of all that...look at what DoW did to the story of wh40k. look at space marine look at firewarrior Tell me, what part of this trend gave you the idea that they even give a ♥♥♥♥ about consistency? How many time's have they retcon'd? even within the books, this level of stupidity still happens.

You seem to be arguing that I am wrong and then agreeing with me. I said that they are doing this and it is a bad thing that does not make sense. You say that I am wrong and then say that they are bad for doing it because it does not make sense.
Please make up your mind.

Please make up your mind. I am saying that you are wrong when you say everyone hates eachother, This is not true. many factions ally with each other, However, it is not as simple as good and evil, so what they are doing is wrong. secondly, that when have they done anything right, and true to the story and details, in any of there games?

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
Firstly; What I said was an exaggeration, a pretty obvious one I thought. Obviously the Imperial Guard and Space Marines are often friends. The Eldar's mysteriousness obviously teams them up with people sometimes (and other times they attack people who are trying to do exactly the same thing as them), the forces of chaos can be relied upon to sometimes team up (but will just as often fight amongst themselves). The problem is that this is not good enough to make two teams, especially as most of the time quite a few of the factions sit around attacking themselves. You really are going an awfully long way out of your way to... argue with someone who agrees with you. How stupid.
Secondly; the fact that they have never listened to the game canon in the past... hardly makes the fact that they are ignoring the canon a good thing now. I don't really see what that point has to do with, well, anything at all.

I wish they would care, but I'll never expect them to, It's just assumed that no WH40K game will be true to cannon.

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
When did I say I expected them to? I just said it was dumb that they weren't doing it. It's still dumb even if it is something to expect.
Your point is still point-less.

Re: Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online
Temporary Alliances for the sake of necessity, IE in DoW when giant ♥♥♥♥ daemons were going to eat the planet, Fire Warrior where Chaos would kill ♥♥♥♥, etc=/= 5 man group consisting of Space Marine Tank, Eldar Healer, Tau Ranged DPS, IG DPS, and a Sister of Battle Queueing up for a dungeon, which is what being on the same team of an MMO generally entails.
