Re: Mod Database
I'm liking where it's going so far. I like keeping the overall tone of it to be "light", instead of the dark colors of the forums. Buttons would be awesome.
Also - domain: cortexmods.com? It's unclaimed.

Re: Mod Database
MLC approves. I do wish the forums had a theme that looked more like the main page, with lighter colors and all.

Re: Mod Database
Personally, I wouldn't use this unless the mods had more pictures and maybe a list of what it contains.

Re: Mod Database
I can whoop up a nice design concept/layout in PS. I'll do it tomorrow (In like, 10 hours or so).

Re: Mod Database
Well now that Maxim's involved I have no chance, but just in case I'll continue to play with things. Like this button.

Re: Mod Database
Uploaded current version. It's mostly code changes, though duh's things are there.
Edit: New version. Now you have your pagination and sorting, all ready to be made pretty by you guys. Images are also only resized if they exceed the dimensions, so the animated gifs work again. Get uploading!

Re: Mod Database
That's some really practical job sneakymax.
Now I can see the mods I have missed previously.
Again GOOD JOB.

Re: Mod Database
It was Eric who was working on the old DB wasn't it, not daman? In any case, sweet. I'd like to request a tagging system, though I can imagine the abuse

Re: Mod Database
I did work on http://disabling.themachinery.net, the mod database, with thor. He coded the bulk of the site though, so I wasn't going to get in his way and edit that. I just added and changed things where they were done badly or thought it'd be a nice feature, as well as making the (bad) theme for the site. 411570N3 wrote: No, he means because Daman is working on a mod database now. Mine is a full mod management application. My "database" already has more mods indexed than sneakymax's, with full description/category content written by myself and some other helpful users. I don't release unfinished garbage, though. Sneakymax, if you added a tag cloud, dynamic download image, rating system, and comments you'd be at where thor/myself's online moddb was! Except due to people not liking the design(I'm guessing) nobody used that one. Or maybe it's because nobody really wants a mod database as the modding section accounts as one! But once I post this it'll settle everything, as people no longer have to ♥♥♥♥ about with folders and rars and zips or even look at the forum at all.

And I'll continue with mine, because I like working on it. I would like not to get in to an argument with whose is better.

Re: Mod Database
That could work. We'll just have to see how it turns out.
Comments are done. It also shows the file size of the file on its page.
Ratings next.

Re: Mod Database
a mod database is only going to work when it's integrated into the forum
that's unfortunate but the abandonment of the wiki is proof that this forum's users refuse to go off the main page to get anything done
