Post Re: Mod Database
I personally like having the downloads directly from the database server. It is basically a central mod hosting place.

Ratings - planned
Comments - planned
Versioning - planned
Multiple screenshots - planned
Mod sorting / paging / top 10 - planned

Fixing mod list layout - top priority.

Aren't you worried about bandwith and space allocation though?

If it gets to be a problem, then I can switch over or figure something out. These forums can handle it; I'm not too worried yet. My internet isn't that great though, unfortunately, because I live out of town.

Though you guys have already uploaded 50mb worth of stuff. Heh.

Add at least some kind of simple search feature in there.

Was I working on the live database? Oops.

Anyway, the screenshot size problem should be fixed. Cleaned up the list ui a little too.

Edit: Quick update to show the uploader.
Edit 2: Images are being resized as jpegs. Working on a fix.
Edit 3: Fixed. Animated gifs won't work any more, because I can't seem to get ImageMagick installed on my server. Will work on it more later.

I am super impressed guys.
I wish I had something useful to contribute, but my web design course was years ago, and we never got to do this kind of thing.

Hmm. I could write a script to upload every mod in a directory. That might be ok.
Gonna need some kind of sorting first though. And duplicate checking.

I've got a solution for the background:
Attachment:
site_bottom.PNG
site_bottom.PNG [ 37.74 KiB | Viewed 3054 times ]

Loop that on the bottom of the site.
Change the color of the background to 1855B2

So what style are we going for for decorations? DRLFF-themed or the blue overtone with the background?

Post Re: Mod Database
I'd go for something different altogether, but something akin to the main page of Datarealms might look good.

I think we can keep the white page style of things, but we should add a bar with the logo at the top of the page IMO.
The little boxes mods get need to have some sort of background, it'll make it easier to look at.
Download, Browse All Mods, Home, View All, and everything else could look better if replaced by buttons.
