I was thinking that it might be fairer to have the produced dummies cost slightly less than the purchase cost of a blaster armed dummy. Considering the fact that you have to pay for the structure and console, it would be a nice incentive. It would make it more efficient in the long run than just dropping a dropship full of dummies.
Just a thought. Might not be the best idea. At any rate, keep up the good work, LFoW. ...That sounds like a good and logical idea. Think about it, all you really would be paying for is parts, unless the factory works like ammo and they just pull them out of thin air then the price would be for factory maintenance only. Going ahead and requoting myself from page 2, as it deals directly with this: Quote: Yes. In the main post near the bottom I detail how it runs off of real funds. In the next update I'll probably make the cost a little less than normally ordering from the menu, representing the costs saved via mass production of a single thing. Right now each dummy costs 150G to produce, however it does save you on the risk of delivery to the field via other means.

I just didn't want to read through 5 pages, you know? I have no real complaints about the mod. Amazing stuff.

Re: Gentlemen, The Dummy Factory.
Bit of a topic rez, but I had an idea.
So the point here is that you pay for the parts used right? That's the cost of each dummy. And you can salvage guns by throwing them onto spaceships, yeah? Why not have a bin attached to the factory that converts the guns into a form of credit to build more dummies? It continues with the idea of ground based support, instead of having to bring a ship down, load the weapons, and fly it back up, you can just throw them in and it's done.
Perhaps a dropship could be used anyway though to kidnap enemy soldiers....
Anyway, just an idea eh?
Lovin' the factory in use though. Works like a charm mate.

Re: Gentlemen, The Dummy Factory.
Neat mod, good job mister! When the blue screen of death appeared on my terminal, I was shocked. Bringing in a unit with the booting CD and clicking my left mouse button to 'fire' crashed my CC . I didn't manage to cause a failure on my terminal from then, so I'm unsure if it was a fault of the CD or just random malfunction. This factory surely comes in handy in complex underground bases, when the enemies already breached your basic defences.

LowestForOfWit Your constant dedacation to Dummies is remarkable I'm totally amazed by the great mod's you deliver to us, may I suggest you make a mission including this great Dummy Ad-on and also can you make vehicles? since your skills are remarkable already I was wondering if you could give us a great array of vehicles.
Thanks for the Mod.

Re: Gentlemen, The Dummy Factory.
I'm a little stumped :\ I have to place the factory using the scene editor, right? Or is there a tool that builds one for me in game?

No. You can put it in when you start skirmish.

Re: Gentlemen, The Dummy Factory.
I was surfing through the Mod Releases pages, and I saw "LowestFormOfWit" and "Dummy", and I knew it would be good. This is incredible! Like usual, the sprites are par-none, the scripting is incredibly advanced and innovative, and the overall finished product is a smashing success! Congratulations to all of you!
I can't see any problems to report, or anything that needs changing. Thank you for this so much!

Re: Gentlemen, The Dummy Factory.
A Behemoth factory would be amazing! I would use it more as a novelty thing in my bases if it were to crank out Behemoths as quickly as the Dummy factory does. I think that a Behemoth factory would have to put out Behemoths at a fairly slow rate, or charge a certain price for each piece, and the price of all the pieces and weapons combined would equal 500 oz. (the price of the original Behemoth). This would make it much more fair in a battle.
