 Homing M16 *Template in Mod Making
This turned out to be better than I originally thought.

This is an M16 that has homing bullets. When the device is off (default setting) the first object that the last bullet hits will be "marked." When homing is turned on, all bullets fired will home in on the marked object untill it is destroyed. Toggle on/off homing mode by double tapping the Pie Menu button.

Credits to me for making the mod, and Nocifer for this topic that inspired me to make this.

You should make a sniper that fires a harmless bullet at the target then a homing one

Awesome, awesome idea. Should definitely try with other weapons. I think snipers, shotguns, and bombs probably would be the most fun.

ROCKET LAUNCHERS PEOPLE! Seriously, that's the only realistic(I know, I know.) use for this. Or maybe a missile strike.
Anyway: Nice work, as always, but hasn't this been done before but then without the marker?

I don't know. I'd rather have the marker feature there, so you don't accidentally shoot something you're not trying to kill. Oh, and this can mark anything that can get hit by the bullets, not just actor-homing.

I'm not sure about doing other weapons for this, I'm pretty lazy.

Chould always give us a template so we chould do it ourselves?

Im kinda looking for a Homing Minigun.

CaveCricket you continue to amaze people. First the grappling gun, now this. I want to be able to make a ton of sprites for a ton of ideas and have you code for them. But alas world cup starts on satur...NO! Today!!! I'm homing on the TV because Ima stereotypical clone!!!

Oh hey, there was a little bug (not me) that would cause some lag issues. That's fixed.

What is next shotgun with that initially shoots multiple markers, then shoots multiple homing bullets ( each homing into each of their respective markers ) ?

I think it would have been easier to use if the first bullet was a marker then the rest were homing bullets, instead of having to switch using the pie menu.

Template yo. It's updated with a few more bug fixes. I'm not really going to update this mod anymore, since there's now an easy template that anyone can just change a few names to get any homing sprayer-like weapon to work.

It took me a while to get the current marking and storage system just right. I don't want to try this, but you're free to edit the template/mod to get it like that.

What if you need to switch targets when the first wasn't destroyed yet? Or you want to shoot non-homing bullets?

Maybe you could have it so that the pie menu switches between the two modes and the non-homing bullets would be the markers. That might make too much lag though. :/ It's just I don't like the pie menu, I accidentally select stuff in the middle of a battle and die for my mistake.
