Unofficial Cortex Command Patch - V0.2
The idea for this came about when I realised there were a couple of things wrong with Vanilla CC.
'Nuff said.

Take a look at the changelog below, and if you have any fixes to suggest, go for it.
But, I'm trying to avoid balance fixes that could potentially break mods, the repeller being the exception.

To install, just extract the entire archive into your Cortex Command folder, and to uninstall, just extract the uninstall archive into your Cortex Command folder.
The Map Pack 3 compatible version assumes that you added the include in Base.rte/Scenes.ini.

Changelog:
  • Replaced palette.bmp with null.bmp in Base.rte/Devices
  • Added a seperate MP3 compatible archive.

Credits:
  • Vanilla Modules: LowestFormOfWit
  • Basis for Medic Drone Lua fix: TheLastBanana
  • Acid Casings fix: capnbubs
  • Everything else modified by: Petethegoat

Moderators:
I think that mod releases is the proper place to post this. If not, just move it somewhere appropriate.
I'm also hoping that this can slip past the pictures rule? Again, if not, just say.

Nailgun. 'Nuff said. Ever tried shooting Coal. Heavy with that beast?

Also, what's wrong with the medic drone?

I like the fixes!

And just wondering, did you make this as a mod and is that how it works, by covering the vanilla that already exists?

Just curious as to how this works.

Base.rte overwrite.
Add the null sprite to Devices as well if you hadn't already.

The medic drone was a bit temperamental; two of them wouldn't work at the same time, they wouldn't heal all actors, etc.

Maxim, I am pretty embarrassed right now. I added palette.bmp, rather than null.bmp to Devices. That will be fixed next version.
And yeah as Maxim said; it just overwrites a couple of files, but not just in Base.rte- Dummy.rte, Coalition.rte, and Missions.rte all have minor changes.

Ok so I'm not sure if its a bug built into CC or what but on maps without the wrap, when enemies spawn, they seem to not appear and die off-screen.

Does this patch fix this too? And if not, maybe there can be a patch to fix that.

You might want to add a "backup" folder to your download that contains the original versions of all the files in question.

That'll pretty much suck the life out of complaints that you irrevocably changed anyone's game.

Other than that, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this existing, though most of it's going to be obsolete whenever B24 rolls around.

Backup download is incoming at some point.
I'm not too worried about B24, if I'm perfectly honest.

With regards to fixing the dodgy AI spawning on non-xwrap maps, does anyone know if that can be fixed via setting LandingZones?
Or is it entirely unfixable without engine access?

Edit:
Added uninstall in OP, but I really don't know why anyone would want it.
Still, as Grif pointed out, it is better to be sure.

Since mods are 'use at own risk' things, the modder shouldn't provide 'backups'. The user that is applying the mod should be responsible and make the backups himself.

If the user ♥♥♥♥ up, then it's his own fault, and the modder should not take in mind silly people who can't think 'oh well this might just ♥♥♥♥ up my whole CC I should make a backup just to be safe and not have to reinstall and/or ♥♥♥♥♥ at the modder if ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan :V'.

Just sayin'.

Though you will be bitched at regardless whether you provide a backup or not.

Well I don't see any bitching yet.

Hey so I got this Image

Its from that different version of Astro. It came up right after I put the folders in.

Have any idea whats wrong?

EDIT: All my scenes from Gotcha are not working including random other missions and scenes. Actually ALL OF THEM.

Any idea whats happening? Most of them are practically the same error messages as the one above.

Oh!

When you installed MP3, you added a line to Base.rte/scenes.ini, yes?
This will have overwritten that, so you just need to look at the MP3 readme and add the line in again.

Sorry about that. I should mention which files are overwritten, really.

Ah right! Ok I'll go change that now.

Anyways, everything is running smoothly other than this.

It would be amusing if tomorrow Data released the new build lol

The links may have had a moment of downtime.
Don't despair, I was just adding a new version.

Nothing major, just Null.bmp in Base.rte/Devices rather than palette.bmp, and I added a MP3 compatible version.
