You combine the Broken Clockwork and the Broken Clockwork to create:

Bent Clockwork Component
A part of the clockwork in a clock. Its a little bent.
Sturdy, Shiny, Ticking

Its just a piece of a clockwork. Its still ticking.

Image
Then you combine the Bent Clockwork Component with the Broken Clockwork to create:

Perfect Clockwork Gear
A brilliant gear, nice and good for any mechanism!
Sturdy, Shiny, Ticking

A nice gear that is surely to cause jealousy by other clockmakers!

Image
You THEN combine the Perfect Clockwork Gear with the Clock Hand to Create:

Clockwork Sprite
A friendly Clockwork Sprite! Sturdy little bugger.
piercing, Shiny, Ticking

A Clockwork Sprite helper! Out of combat, it can show what time it is. In combat, it can either attack with its Clock Hand, or if upgraded, strike a mean tone that may shock a foe for a turn!

Wow, you where lucky with creating this little guy! Your master never told you that you could create pets!

Attempt to gather a large amount of the gear parts. Continually craft them together to see if there are better quality clockwork parts than perfect. Then continue to build your pet.

If you can combine the sprite with anything, do so with the metal. Having a clocksprite with higher defense would really help.

Then, go to the item shop.

Hm, do we have enough money to make a smaller John to combine with the sprite? A combat companion would be invaluable.

You combine your Clockwork Sprite Helper with the Armling Alloy and create:

Alloyed Clockwork Sprite Helper
A reinforced Clockwork Sprite. It has more health, but is a little slower than before.
Hard, Piercing, Ticking

An armor clad Clockwork Sprite. Can now act as a shield to Marshall, along with the two previous abilities.

You then go to Stop n' Shop.

MM: "Hey Shop Keep! Im here to look at some new items!"

SK: "Certainly! I can see that you are level 2, so i have some new stuff you can buy! Take a gander!"

Image

Kark Shirt
Leather padded Shirt.
Stiff, Stretchy, Tight

A good shirt padded with pieces of Kark. Did you know both Kark and Flous come from the same tree? Namely, the Karkous tree, which is native to the world of Dexothrolium?

Image

Flous Gauntlets
Good fine limb armor.
Stretchy, Durable, Light

A pair of good Gauntlets. Nothing more, nothing less.

Lucidus Shield
A good solid wooden shield.
Sturdy, Weighty, Wooden

A good shield made from the Lucidus Bush. One of the only known bushes to grow a stem big enough to carve wood from.

SK: "Sadly, i dont have anything else you may buy yet. You need to get a higher level. Now, what would it be lad?"

made a small mistake with the cash amount.

I think you should go and kill some more armlings to get about 3 more alloy peices, then buy a Kark shirt, the gauntlets, and the wooden sheild, and individually combine them each with a piece of alloy.

Buy the Wooden shield, go home, follow these steps:

<Wooden Shield + Alloy = Fortified Wooden Shield (+1 Shield)>
<Nice Shirt + Fortified Wooden Shield = Nice basic Carapace Armour (+Lvl 3 Armor; +1 Shield)>

Combine John with the eye

<John the Atomizer + Eye = John the Cybernetic Atomizer (-ADDITIONAL COMBAT ABILITIES UNLOCKED-)>
-EITHER:
--1) John can hit more accurately (2x DMG/hit)
--2) John can hit multiple targets per attack (1x DMG/hit on 1st target; 0.5x DMG/hit on 2nd target)
