Re: Sprite Help Thread
Just a sloppy edit, I'm not sure if I like the overall look of it though. I definitely prefer outlined hands and jetpack, not so sure about the feet. The head also probably wants to be moved forward a pixel, but oh well.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Like this. Also try to keep your Sprites in palette before starting because some unsatisfying results might happen... Just sayin'

Re: Sprite Help Thread
That has nice shape to it, but its pretty big CC wise. Maybe cut it down a bit, add some Outline, and detail. And I'd say it would be perfect.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
At the moment the darker orange reaches the top on the left side of the glass. You should probably have it get lighter as it approaches the top.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Looking good. You might want to add a bit more to make the seam between glass and metal a bit more interesting and that should be pretty much it.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
is the glass over the metal and like 5cm thick? cause otherwise it shouldn't be casting a shadow on the metal..

My first sprite Tried to do a nuke or something.. However it is too big though. Any critic or tips? Now I really respect what you guys do... It is extremely hard to make a sprite with so poor pallette!

Re: Sprite Help Thread
That's a nice sprite. You need to work on the shading on the nose abit, and put a little more on the cylinder where the fins are attached. I should probably work on my sprite, but I have other modding ideas right now.

I tried to do somekind of shadow where the fins are attached but maybe I should leave it since it just looks like matte. And yea I fixed the nose but I think it also looks bit jagged. Anyways just playing around cause I dont really have any "real" use for it (pretty poor knowledge of coding and lack of time). And matty: How constructive!! Thanks

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Good sir, there is no such thing as a Nuke that is too big. It seems you have quite a good bit of detail in that. Making it smaller would only make things harder on you.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
itswillis, I am really glad that you are persisting. I think the main area of improvement at this point would be that you are using one colour for the entire sprite. You are using multiple shades, yeah, but you are using the same greyish navy blue for the whole gun. Pretty much every faction, both Vanilla and mod uses two or three colours.
You could do it if you had a lot contrast in the weapon between the lightest and darkest shade, but it's a lot easier just to introduce a second colour.
@MGuard You're doing it right.
@Coop IMO, the shape looks weird. If you even the shading out out it won't look as segmented.
