My vote is for fire and double tap fire. Scroll wheel is bad for laptop users like me.

Use what P3l said. I don't see scrolling and firing simultaneously working out.

Re: How would you want to control a Portal Gun?
You could ofc have multiple ones appear in the buy menu, with different control schemes.

Actually, I'd have single tap firing alternating with long presses firing repeats. I wouldn't really mind instant spawning if it's more reliable.

Having some button to press to switch colors would make it much easier. Perhaps Tab?

And a big glow on it to tell if it's blue or orange.

You use a Laptop for mouse + keyboard CC controls? Without a mouse? 411570N3 wrote: Actually, I'd have single tap firing alternating with long presses firing repeats. It might get confusing if you forgot the last portal you shot. Perhaps there could be a glow on the gun that indicates the color of the next portal to be shot? I might make this control scheme into the script, and people can change between this and the control scheme below... Anyways, so far I think the portal gun control scheme will be (for mouse and keyboard users): Fire = Create Blue Portal Double-tap fire = Create Orange Portal Reload Portal Gun = Remove both portals (or one if you only shot one) And you can switch this mode with 411570N3's method by changing a setting in the script.

I thought about this, but you wouldn't be able to choose the portal you want to shoot Press Q, blue portal comes out. press E, Orange portal comes out. You fail.

Both of those keys are already mapped to switch characters. You could change it yourself, but I think there are plenty of other options.

You fail. You haven't ever said anything even remotely productive since you've been here. Your posts being mostly one-off childish, grammatically flawed snippets, and now you're being outright rude. If you actually bother reading threads you post in at all, you would have read that CC48 doesn't want to do any functions bound to specific keybindings. CaveCricket48 wrote: I will never make a mod that is a device with specific keybindings. TL;DR - Pay attention and you won't look stupid.

Then you can't aim without only being able to fire orange portals.

Re: How would you want to control a Portal Gun?
Ugh. Why can't right click just be an alternate fire and some other key can open the pie menu. It seems like we run into so many runaround ways across so many mods just to implement alternate/dual firing modes for weapons. It's absurd.
Damn CC.

Piemenu on right click isn't even practical.
