   |   Re: NEW CONTENT THREADEither new or more open actor (that's all actors, including craft) systems; eg: multiple limbs/attachment points/etc, preferably in a not hardcoded way.
Basically, uh, what I'd like is for everything hardcoded to not be.

Soft counters are okay since they can be overcome with skill but those already exist. I do think that certain units should have strengths and weaknesses, more than they do now, but nothing like hard counters. That is a good point. I didn't even think about individual player ability. My main reason for preferring hard counters is that it makes comebacks more viable. I also think that squad control would require skill and ability- But you're right, individual badassery is what makes this game fun. I definitely overstated.

   |   Re: NEW CONTENT THREADI would like a Lua function where it starts at the SpriteOffset of and object, and draws a line outward in a specified direction untill it reaches the end of the object's sprite. The return variable would be the vector it drew/created.
Another useful Lua function would be something that gets a pointer to the currently held device of an actor (or it returns nil if there is no device).

Squad control can be encouraged without counters, strengths and weaknesses of certain actors can be done without making them useless against a specific kind of enemy. If burstspamming was disabled it would be viable to have multiple people with different kinds of weapons to be used in different situations. I rebalanced my entire game to make actors weaker, bleeding faster, burstspamming being disabled; having multiple heavy weapons is no longer possible without leaving your jetpack useless.
