Re: Sprite Help Thread
Try to make the outline more reactive to the colour it is outlining.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
I think what he means is, for example, using a darkish brown outline instead of a darkish black for the wooden parts.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Lafe, the texture on that hull is astonishing coming from you. I would suggest you continue working on it for a bit. The only problem currently would be that the aforementioned texture is almost indistinguishable, so you might want to up the contrast a bit, which would also have the advantage of making it more visible in caves.
Cricket, that looks pretty nice, very reminiscent of Arne's style, but the red wiring is a touch odd looking. I don't really know what to do about it though. The valve on the jetpack is a nice addition, as are the seams on the head.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
CC48, I would use a bit less of outline inside the sprites and where tyey touch eachother. Like, the fg legs n arms and the part of the body pointing forwards.

Collective: More dynamic shading rather than pillow shading (look it up).
CC48: That's hot and you know it.
lafe: That's uh, a nice texture, but I wouldn't be able to tell that it's a frigate and not a background even if it was flying.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
Outlines now. Both interior and exterior. At present it is difficult to distinguish any edges, particularly within the hul.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
The top grip has sort of an awkward shape.

Re: Sprite Help Thread
It's too big, shrink it to the size of the coa assault rifle then clean up your lines abit.

Sorry for double post, but I think it's a great idea to bring this to your attention: http://pixeljoint.com/pixels/tutorials.aspSome of them are gold.
