Right now it's pre requisit to set the game to the lowest, windowed resolution when hosting; we have allready tried that method. There must be other configurable schematics which are featured or otherwise in which to make it perfectly playable.

You're still missing the point.
And this applies to everyone in this thread.
When I say that you should get on topic, that doesn't mean that you should start a discussion about what I was mad about!
IMAGINE THAT.
For the umpteenth time, if you've got a problem with my moderation, take it to the appropriate channels. The search button would be a marvelous place to start.
Until then, stick to the topic at hand.

Re: Enforcers' CC multiplayer room
YOU'LL WIN AT IRONY! TOP SCORE.
I am not derailing this topic.
I am trying to keep it on topic.
This is a thread about online multiplayer in Cortex Command using third-party screen sharing programs.
Any of your ideas about how to implement multiplayer, what Data should do, who Data should hire, why Data should do anything, and why your ideas are the best and most original of all time, DO NOT BELONG IN THIS THREAD.
That is the long and short of why I have locked this topic and split posts out of it twice.
If you'd like to make another thread discussing your innumerable ideas about what everyone should do, please, feel free to do so.
If you disagree with my moderation tactics or my behavior as a moderator, bring it up to a higher authority or in a public thread.
You and I obviously don't get along. This is hardly the first time I've had this happen. My manner is not always the best; as such, I'm going to leave this thread to itself, and I can only ask that you do not make another post following this one, unless it refers to the original subject of this topic.

I could get one up if you want, just PM me. Don't expect an immediate response unless I'm online.

Re: Enforcers' CC multiplayer room
if someone made a simple program to check for key presses, send a packet saying which key was pressed then simulating that key on the host computer and just streamed the video on some other program I think it could be a lot faster. streaming sound and video to tinychat gave me very little difference in performance compared to not streaming (using the tester provided by the performance survey, manycam and tinychat), though the video was slightly out of sync and compressed to about half the size or something so it may not be the best video streaming solution. and the sending/receiving key strokes program would add little to no lag and provide almost realtime response even if the visual response would be out of sync.

Re: Enforcers' CC multiplayer room
I'm thinking about playing a game. Probably in about an hour, if anyone wants to set something up. Nevermind. Don't feel like it anymore. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Re: Enforcers' CC multiplayer room
well if you have fiber-optic internet, and the host machine is running +2gb ram and sticks to 640x480 there shouldn't be any problems. Unfortunately how many of us have fiber optics. Another thing you could do is maybe change the codec for the video share to something that can stream faster and in full color. looking at the first screencap, the colors, they hurt. seriously any optimization of this can be handled with a better codec, and everyone having faster connections.
as for data, I think he should replace the 'april fools' dev log, with a new link to this. and on that note, yeah I'd like to actually check this out, so I've sent a pm. this had better work.

Re: Enforcers' CC multiplayer room
Though I agree changing codecs would fix it, (Go DivX!) we'd need a different application; you can't change codecs in Elluminate.

Re: Enforcers' CC multiplayer room
Actually I have pretty great upstream on my home computer.
Anyone near the west coast (USA) want to try sometime later? Probably within the week.
