You wrote Mhz instead of Ghz.

Re: Performance Survey - WE NEED VISTA AND OLDER CPU RESULTS
Yeah, I told you I underclocked it. It's just going really, REALLY slow. Seriously though, I originally had it written in MHz and ended up converting them to GHz, but apparently I forgot to change it. Thanks for the catch. Also, just for the record, that was on a fresh install of CC with very little running on the background.

That actually gave me an idea. Anyone with a P2 or a P133 laying around whiling to waste half an hour?

http://pastebin.com/yv2t90REI do have some mods in but they're just lua scenes run from the campaign, so I don't think there's much extra stuff in the buy menu. I'll do a clean install later.

Just out of curiosity, what type of socket is your processor?

That AMD Sempron just seems so off on the chart for Test 3.

Ramps, for those interested. Looks pretty certain that core clock plays the largest role in this, but newer processors also seem to have a significant lead (compare the xeon with the P4, for instance)

What I find interesting is that FPS3 is the only one that seems to have any noticeable discrepancy between the results (in my case, in the very least). At lower levels of strain, it's more than likely dependent more on RAM than anything.

Re: Performance Survey - WE NEED VISTA AND OLDER CPU RESULTS
Yeah, I suppose the problem is that in normal situations the strain is comparable to the heaviest test.

The whole testing protocol should be redone around more "realistic" scenarios, but, uh, frankly, I don't have the time or effort to do so.

I just noticed that keptin's 1.something P3 is on par with my 3.2 celeron, I suspect it's due to the celeron's low amount of cache.

Weird.

Re: Performance Survey - WE NEED VISTA AND OLDER CPU RESULTS
The lower ones seem somewhat based on chance. Look at TLB's ramp, it's all over the place at the lower values. Regardless, 0.2GHz isn't going to make that much of a difference. Also natti, what the hell? Those are good results. I should make a "demo" prom grounds testing scene, with scripted entity movement and 'splosions and the like, but I'm kind of too busy at the moment <_< Still, cheers for all the data guys.
