   |   Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingMy friends and I are trying to play Cortex Command on split screen using screen sharing, however, the game lags too much for the viewers in order for it to be playable.
We have gone through TeamViewer, TightVNC and I think we tried remote assistance over msn, and on none of them were we able to play the game without FPS issues.

Are there any more optimised screen sharing applications which people have found useful for playing CC on split screen? Or is there any way in which to optimise those applications better?

 Thanks in advanced.

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingItem One: How remote? LAN, or internet? If LAN, then what kind of network between them?
If internet, what's the lowest bandwidth between the two of you?

Them Two: Are you setting the compression settings yourself?

I've made LAN work "ok" on a pair of macbooks, wifi N and max compression in default built-in VNC.
 Keyboard was wonky though.

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingOver the internet, and I am not sure, I will have to ask them next time.
TightVNC seems to be the only one with compression settings, what does that do/what is that?

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingI think there must be a way to get it working without an amount of lag to make it unplayable.

That's strange. Maybe there's some kind of application sharing program which is on the internet somewhere, rather than a screen viewer which includes things all over the desktop and/or the screen, even when selecting a window. I don't know where to look for it, though. Or some kind of os optimisation programs?

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingYou could try messing with the delta time on CC.
Wait, is the FPS problem going on with the screen capture program, or CC?

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingI can play it fine, but for the people playing it through the screen sharing application, apparently the fps is barely 1 'or something'.
I don't know what the delta time is.

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingIt affects the speed at which CC calculates stuff, if I'm correct. But, that wont help you.

I think Tinychat has application sharing

There is also this thing called Elluminate that might work out.

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingI just tried Tinychat, but it only appears to have screen sharing, rather than application sharing, and it's extremely slow. Also, is this here - http://www.elluminate.com the elluminate you are talking about? I have to buy that in order to use it for longer than 30 days.

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingYeah, well, its a possibility. I'm pretty sure you can get a trial room that you can keep, you just cant have more than 3 people in it. Not sure how it would fair with the actual screen sharing though.

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingOh, I see. Well we can only play 3 player on coop anyway, as one team has to be the ai.
 I'll try it out.

Is the trial version of elluminate live what I want? Which can be found directly on the main page?

Also, how did you find out about this by the way?

   |   Re: Optimising cortex command on multiplayer screen sharingAllright, well, I installed it, and opened a new room; application sharing seems to work but I can't find out how to allow all users access to the application rather than just the host and another person.
 Have you tried/used this before?
