This reminds me a bit of one of my own creations.. which I call the Toppler (so-called due to the oversized abdomen which makes him fall over occasionally). The Toppler, however, isn't as mobile.. or well-sprited. He's just a lump of orange that won't die (his gut covers his head-and-neck area). This is definitely a well-done recreated Dummy. I was never a fan of dummies.. this thing's got me pumping dummies out of space like a madman. Well done.

Honestly this is one of my bigger failures. I hate the circular shoes, and the fact that it can't even walk indoors. It falls over a lot and isn't as durable as I'd like.

It was a rushed job and it needs a lot of work. The biggest problem is that I still have big problems wrapping my head around walkpaths. Even the Behemoth could use better ones, as he falls down sometimes when climbing hills.

It'll get love someday.

I've actually found a few moments to do some work regarding this forsaken kin of my Dummy mods.

I've got a couple weapons in the works for specific use with the Heavy Dummy, to fill its role as a heavier arms fire support unit.

First is sprite-wise a heavier version of the Nailer Cannon. I'm still debating if this will end up firing nails though, mostly do to a..similar concept elsewhere.
Heavy Nailer: Image

Next is a typical charge-up shoulder mounted laser cannon (think Spartan Laser-ish). I'm debating on the functionality of this one as well, but sprite wise it's pretty complete aside from other animations I'll of course get around to.

Have the Heavy Nailer shoot exploding railroad spikes. One at a time, though, since a rapid-fire spike gun might be a wee bit imbalanced.

Honestly I 'could' make a mini update for the Behemoth right now, but I'm waiting until I get some good functions into the weaponry.

the last update took an age though, what was it like 4 month hiatus? looking forward to both updates soon, as well as that fishbowl you flaunted about heh.

Very nice sprites, shiny, preciousss... nailer is the best in dummy arsenal and I hope your update will better it and make "the most best" (my grammar teacher will haunt me for this).

The one that opens before it fires: I think there is a reason it opens before it fires. Like a "big" reason :D

Another new weapon coming along for this guy.

Just an improved version of the grenade launcher that will be able to switch to different grenade types.
Currently planned are the basic Impulse/Disruptor grenades, with a possible third option being an incendiary or landmine-proximity triggered type grenade.

Sprite is in the early stages and is heavily based off the Heavy Bolter from W40K:

I think 3 unique weapons will be enough for this little guy.

I hate dealing with those friggin' Impulse Grenades on the Dummy Assault mission...

I also don't know if that would be such a great idea to be honest, unless you are planning to make this a "defensive" weapon of sorts. Which would be totally okay. Especially if you're going to make it have a landmine thingy. Might give him another layer instead of purely offense. A little on-the-fly defense could be neat since once your base turrets go down you cannot rebuild.

Also nice job.

The grenade launcher looks pretty imbalanced.
I think it is the back end that is the problem, it just doesn't match the front.

And ergonomically, if the dark bit on the top is a handle, then it is going to be a ♥♥♥♥♥ to hold, with one hand underneath, and one on top.

I do really like the grenade belt and the muzzle though. Especially the hole in the muzzle.

inb4 Foogooman resprites this and releases it as "Heavy Infantry Units for Coalition"

^Hopefully not :P (and I bear no personal resentment towards Foogooman, I'm just seizing the opportunity to make a weak joke)

But anyways, I love this- it's a great addition to the real Dummy faction. The dummies have always felt a little incomplete to me when it comes to their available soldiers because, while the regular units are pretty tough for their cost, they feel like plasticized skeletons (brittle and susceptible to breaking), and the Dreadnaughts were so ridiculously immobile (eg tripping over a three-pixel high blade of grass) that I never really used them. This is a nice middle ground between the two, retaining the mobility of the Dummy and gaining some of the stability of the Dreadnaught.

Can't wait for this to reach completion with all of the weapons and whatnot :D

Yeah I wasn't completely decided on the shape of the back end, so I just closed it off and added a trigger handle. If you couldn't tell I started most of the work from the front backward. The back will get some love, as well as a smaller dummy symbol probably. It's still a WIP as I've said.

This is why I created the Behemoth initially, and that feeling of incompleteness also spurred the Heavy, though the latter was implemented halfheartedly. Standard dummies are useful for basic expendable troops. Dreadnoughts are clumsy and are easily defeated with their large target area and have horribly weak guns, and the turrets don't even pin to walls (?) and are all around awful.

Most of my dummy mods, if not all, are just trying to fill holes in the vanilla faction.
