Re: Art Dump
Detail is coming tomorrow most likely. I'll retouch the rocks and actually put some waves in. Might add a shack by the sea, we'll see how into it i get.
Also I don't get the relevance of the portal reference, fill me in?

Re: Art Dump
I hope to see it soon. This one its a unknown soldier from unknown faction, one of those guys what you slaughter in shoot-outs without notice, hellgast semblances? perhaps... I want to turn it into a walking animation soon. But I'm not afraid if it doesn't success, it just my second draw Looks like you never played! I was just advising you to be careful with girls, they look so sweet as portal cakes but after many many many efforts they can turn into a fire without look behind.

Re: Art Dump
I don't understand why people are so colour conservative when pixelling, there is a certain aesthetic with a limited colour palette such as high contrast/limited hues, but most people try to use palettes with most of the main colours (red, green, blue, yellow, orange, brown, purple, white, black)... I understand where it came from, when computers could only display a certain number of colours, but I don't understand why it is almost deemed as an essential part of pixel art, people don't give a crap about how many colours you used in any other art form, there's the personal challenge but that's really all there is to gain from using a limited amount of colours.
NaXx you need to work on body proportions and you could do with using a larger variety of colours

Re: Art Dump
the upper part of the body its bigger than common because future soldiers take anabolizants, I don't know how to make it look anabolized without it look bad proportions/hulk.
About colours, no thanks, perhaps camouflage after animation but I don't want a coloured clown.

Re: Art Dump
Re: portal caution We've been together for over two and a half years, I don't think she's promising anything unrealistic/wants unrequited access to my funds. And I understood it in the context of the game, but didn't really see the relation to women I think the restriction thing on pixeling comes from the "good old days" when games had palette limitations, sometimes on a per-sprite level. Nowadays yeah, I think it probably is about personal challenge, but having some form of palette always helps unify the image, because the colours all become motifs, you don't get weird green showing up without wanting it to be there etc etc. I usually compare it to painting w/ real media, because you always set up a palette then, and just mix the colours if you want some bridging hues. when digitally painting you can do that too, and with pixel art (unless it's going to be rotated) you can dither.

Re: Art Dump
1. That's really sad, my condolences.
2. Lancer Evolution? Looks pretty good to me, the shine and perspective is really nice. The only I thing is that I strongly associate Lancers and red- but that's not really pertinent to art.
(Excuse me if that's not a Lancer).
