Re: Wiki vandalism
hi. this is me.
you can blame weasel for everything that is wrong with the wiki.
i've suggested a single easy to install extension multiple times to him in multiple ways.
he's made it blatantly clear: that's not his job, he doesn't care!
give me ftp.

Re: Wiki vandalism
Do people even use the wiki? I keep hearing people say that it's pretty much useless and never-updated, except maybe one certain section.

Re: Wiki vandalism
The wiki is useful for Lua documentation; that's literally it.
Someone could make a formatted offline html file and everyone would be fine and dandy, especially if it bundled with the CC installer.

Re: Wiki vandalism
Nobody uses it because there's nothing on it. Nobody puts anything on it because there's nothing on it and nobody uses it. Because nothing's on it and nobody uses it, it is apparently going to go neglected.

Re: Wiki vandalism
Actually, I use the Lua stuff all the time, and the controller section is missing (could've really used it a few times) so if anybody has that, I'd like a copy.

Wow, brilliant move, whoever. Rather than rolling back to an old version of the page, specifically this: http://wiki.datarealms.com/wiki/index.p ... oldid=5711 which I looked up when I first noticed the spam editing, the entire page has been completely deleted. Brilliant.

Re: Wiki vandalism
I use the wiki all the time for variables and values and stuff like that. Every once in a while I will add descriptions to variables that I know. Helps loads to pop back to the wiki and find a bunch of hidden/forgotten variables that I've never seen before. I've also peeped at the lua page too.

Re: Wiki vandalism
Honestly, I'd be in favour of nuking, provided that we have backups of any important or irreplaceable pages. I suspect there would be more contribution if every other page wasn't giving you links to "free p0rn 0nline". Also: "extreme free forn"?
Truly terrifying stuff.

Re: Wiki vandalism
afaik there aren't any backups of that stuff. Especially the Lua documentation. A lot of the ini scripting stuff is common community knowledge, so replacing it would be possible if annoying. The Lua stuff though is still new and each section is not often used, so only the commonly used parts are common knowledge.

Re: Wiki vandalism
Except the so called 'common knowledge' isn't common to all and a good amount of it is common to very few indeed. A wiki would greatly help in these situations.
