Bad news boys. It is likely my super-secret-underground-cold war-esque-mainframe server farm will close its doors soon and thus so will my servers, with the possibility of being open on weekends only. I'll keep you posted, but so far that's the story.

Why can't you host your own server in a closet or something? :<

EDIT: Darg, double post. Oh Ipod Touch, why must you betray me so?

Where "something" = under my computer desk at home.
I'm moving and where I'm moving has a maximum of 1.7mbps service, as opposed to the 8mbps I get now. During the week all of that would be needed for work-related matters, so that's why the weekend might be feasible. Time will tell however, I may not move to this particular area (depending on whether the seller will pay for half of the broken thus disgusting septic tank).

Bumpdate, after searching around I have found faster network access at the new location through a different company than I currently subscribe to. Whether or not I move there is still uncertain, but if I do then the server will still function.

Importing a level:

At first, this will just be for loading saves from old versions of the game, but it might be expanded to support saves from other games, mostly because I love pointless features like that. I already have mostly working DOOM level importer written, and it’d be really interesting to be able to load Dwarf Fortress levels, if Toady One would be OK with that.

Dwarf Fortress.
In Minecraft.

One square would probably have to be nine cubes to make it work.

Someone get the save file for Boatmurdered!

Hm, I just thought of something... I shall go email Notch about it. He mentioned that he won't support maps above a certain height (~256 limit I believe) when infinite comes out because of how he loads block chunks. Will that apply only to infinite maps, and limited maps can be higher, or will it be universal?

I'd much rather have the save file for Undergrotto.

It's been reincarnated into LuaCraft, which will have lua scripting and multiworld.
