Re: Actor (First Time)
Start out with a <light/heavy> resprite, then grow from there. I wouldn't think of walkpaths right off the bat.

Re: Actor (First Time)
Eh, the only real pieces of an actor is: Head Body 2x Legs 2x Arms 2x Feet 2x Hands
When I sprite a new actor I typically go by this Head Body Upper arms Lower arms Upper Legs Lower Legs Foot Hand
When I animate the arms and legs, I superimpose the upper and lower parts over a already existing leg/arm sprite, and rotate the parts to each frame.

Re: Actor (First Time)
Looked at the sprites for a coalition heavy and then gave up. Way to much too resprite. Then why does it have many extra pieces? I don't see how i would make a actor anyway, i can't/can hardly make a gun. <<I can only resprite one.

Re: Actor (First Time)
Because it uses attachables, which are used as armor. The coalition heavy has body armor and a helmet. As well, arms/legs/feet/hands have Foreground and <Darkened> Background sprites.

Joesycop wrote: Oh. So if i look at.....a dummy.....it would be a simple resprite? Clarify. Though I must say a lot of people these days seem to start out with a resprited dummy, its up to you as to what AHuman you want to use as your template. Just be forewarned, it's usually never a good idea to release simple resprites, except they should be your practice actors.

Instead, make a whole new faction, using the same torso, leg, arm, head size as the dummies. As in re-sprite everything, but don't just recolour. Also Dummy Revolution will get ridiculed like DUM-E even though it had crazy custom weapons plus attachable. Don't make your re-sprite, look like a recolour. Just a head-up, of course, if its your first actor, mind dumping it in the mod dump?

Re: Actor (First Time)
I have one question. What editing software did you use? I use paint.net but it *only* lets me paint in pixels. Its only useful when you want to do low-quality stuff. The pixels are quite big. A dummies head is 11x11 pixels. I would like software that would let me paint in smaller pixels or such.
