You're just being obstructionist. When you add water into any game it adds a whole new plane of options:
Stealth, naval combat, an actual use for dropships since other actors can't cross large bodies of the stuff, diving actors, possible plot-line twists involving undersea bases and evil crab monsters, Awesome new wildlife, non-explosive-operated guns which work better underwater as opposed to actual guns which just don't. Making the game more difficult isn't a bad thing. Try to realize that and you'll begin to see from my point of view.

Hmm, water just slows you down, and you could just lob a grenade in the water, since you aren't so fast.
Guns work underwater, you just don't want any energy weapons.
Diving, robots... with rubber gaskets, and the air-filter/face guard of coalition.
Boop boop boop.

I'm not agreeing if water should be done or not, but it could add more modding possibilities. Impulse grenades could also have an interesting effect in water by creating a large shock-wave. It could be used for various tactics, like freeze the surface to make terrain (if there is a cryo gun that works on water), rig it with some C4, and blow it up when a large group of enemies are on the ice and they'll drown to their deaths. You could also make flood chambers, giant amoebas, and other stuff as mods.

It is NOT the only possibility in water to die. And stealth because you could swim into an enemy base. And if they work, tell me how. Plus, you can't prove either way that the mask is used for diving or not, or that robots are waterproofed.

Water is not going to happen. It is about as likely as full-blown online play. This topic is now turning into an argument and has no useful direction it can go in. If you want to continue discussing the first suggestion, go ahead, but fighting about water is just getting dumb now.

The first one is pointless.

Discussion over, lock it.

Discussion over what

I personally think the first idea is good and the second is pointless, so obviously there is still room for discussion.

There should be guns like the idea # 1
You can buy a gun, and then separately buy silencer and scope.

Ok, I think you guys just aren't too fond of water, and it seems some didn't even read what I wrote. I was talking about making basically a moving zone that would act like water, affecting the objects which it covers. It wouldn't cover forces, objects moving the water, but just the water imitating area moving and that it would have the same height of the surface, in different areas. I was just asking if it would easy to calculate, especially if it was made more simple, with those squares. The game already has to check every piece of terrain, so I thought that some squares having some special rules wouldn't change the frames too much. But hey, maybe I'll mention it again when computers are more powerful and everyone won't go crazy when I mention stuff that acts like water.

Though what about the first thing, having your own style of actors instead of several preset ones would be good, eh?

But not 2 or 3 actors, that would be stupid. Base actors who can then be upgraded. Warforged anyone?

It doesn't check every piece of terrain, that would be horribly laggy. When a bullet hits terrain, if the bullet hits hard enough, it will dislodge some terrain. Only then is physics applied to any terrain.

I like both his ideas. Especially the customization. The water would be awesome too. But maybe if everyone throws in ideas we can make it happen

If decent water was ever to be added to CC, it would probably require an extra physics engine inside CC to work properly.

Adding pixel water would be pretty stupid, it will be laggy, and probably not very effective (And ugly cause pixel water would be solid blue), so the only way to do it would be adding jello like 'chunks' of water (Like in most advanced-ish falling sand games) that could merge and break free from each other when interacted with (Why merge? Because if idle, having one bigass chunk will be less laggy than having 100 small chunks constantly coliding with each other).

It would definitely stand out though, but I honestly think it could work.

But for that, 1. Data will have to actually want to add water to CC, 2. optimize game engine so you won't have 0.1 FPS each time a small wave is formed and 3. Data will need to fix MO-MO collision issues.

So that sums it up, there will never be water in CC that is much different than the current pathetic excuse for it.
