Yes! Downloading now... will edit post with critiques after play.
Drop Crab - Very easy to control and does what it is supposed to do. I think most crab actors with jetpacks should be more like this.
MC6AC - Wow. The effects on this thing were beautiful. This mod is great and definitely staying in my CC folder for a while.
Boom Crabs - All but the nuke crab were resprites, I did think the effects were of good quality though, especially on the Napalm Crab
Nuka Drone - A nice sprite and good effects. Was disappointed to see the crab couldn't be used as a missile.
Technologies - Great for base defense, I loved using the artillery unit on Mountain Land in skirmish. I thought the walkpaths were well done as well.
Mobile Turret - A dummy turret with legs that fires Annihilator rounds. The walkpaths in particular could use work as the crab constantly falls over.
XenoBiology - Very cool. I did not expect the seeds to act the way they did. Using this and the Bee mod both make the world of Midas seem to be more alive.
Brain Crab - A brain on crab legs with a coalition drone attack. Nothing that bad but not that original of an idea.
Teleporty - Not sure what part of this is an ACrab but this is still a cool mod. I do think this has already been released before though. Regardless, it does what it says and does it well.

This is the funniest mod contest I've ever seen.

Where to begin.

Technologies was a hilarious. I see the sprite, then I see the walk, the jetpack, the gun, oh god I was dying. It's just hilarious how bad this is. The sprites are pretty bad, the thing is incapable of death, walks ridiculously fast, overall someone with little sense of balance and maybe polish.

The Spitter Plant. The first one I actually liked. If it could actually do damage to enemies, then it would be all the more awesome, but the coolness is already at 9. Whoever made this, see if you can crank it to 11.

Nuke Drone, the only other one I liked. Generic, but a very nice explosion, especially the white smoke ring.

MC6AC was glitchy to the extreme. I liked what I saw before it crashed, twice, but not too much. It's kinda cool, but really not my thing, and way too glitchy to consider for my vote.

DropCrab was good, interesting use of Lua, but it should have had some way to attack or something, maybe a turret welded to the top of it. Something that big should have no trouble killing things, which it did since it failed at squishing things and has no way to attack.

Mobile Turret and BOOMcrab were both noobsauce fests. Boomcrab was just bombs turned into crabs, and made overpowered, and the Mobile Turret had a rape-hose for a gun.

Can't comment on Brain-Crab or Teleporty, since I didn't see them in the actors menu. Though I suppose I'll go back and check it out in skirmish. Really people, if they can't be bought mid game, THEN PUT THAT IN THE NOTE.

It shows up in pistols as a gun i believe. But that's the gun FOR it. I think.

They're in the "Weapons" and the "Tools" tab and are called "Porter Vator" and "Group Porter Vator".

Here's my thoughts so far.
Brain Crab
A pretty neat and well-done mod. The ability to latch onto things, as well as the fact that you can manipulate them too, is pretty neat. The forcefield is fairly ugly, but aside from that, this one is altogether pretty nice.

Drop Crab
Fairly useful in an actual skirmish, and it's nice that the AI actually uses it properly. It has a tendency to trip, though, and its doors wobble around a bit.

MC6A6
This one sounds really fun, but it won't run for me. When I push C, it grows, and when it's just about to change, it crashes. I've tried it on two copies of CC and it's produced the same results.

Teleporty
An interesting idea, if not a bit confusing to use. However, the mod was created before the contest, and it doesn't even functionally work like a crab aside from sharing a ClassName.

Mobile Turret
Works like a turret, walks like a crab. Does the job just fine. Unfortunately, it's just not very exciting.

Nuka Drone
This was probably my favourite bomb crab that I've seen. The explosion effect is nice, and the sprite is good too.

Technologies
The sprites on these leave something to be desired, as does their functionality. Considering the price, I expected a lot more from them, but they're not very useful. The scout was obviously designed to carry units, but if you try to put in a unit, it just gets crushed. As well, it seems to just use standard Dreadnought gibs. Still, it is a nice idea, and the creator should have some credit for at least attempting to make some more interesting variants of the Dreadnought.

Xenobiology
This one is pretty neat - the sprite is nice and the premise is also cool. It doesn't really do much, but it looks pretty and polished while doing it.

BOOMCrab
I found these to be a bit lackluster. There have been plenty of bomb crabs before, and these don't really add anything new. The bomb crab and grenade crab are virtually the same (aside from the fact that the grenade crab seems to beat itself to death without exploding if left alone). The napalm crab explodes, but it doesn't seem to actually leave any burning aside from fire effects. The main thing they all lack is a detonator, so you have to wait for somebody to shoot them if you want them to blow up.

I think my vote goes to the Brain Crab.

Hahaha, plant crab was fun. Dropcrab, I think, is amazing. I haven't gotten any crashed out of MC6AC like some of you, and boy is it beautiful. Nuka drone was fun, nice sprite job. Didn't find the boom crabs all that great. The mobile turret's jetpack I though was nice.

boomcrabs where just crabs with grenade gibs, and a drednaught with 'nuke' gibs, and it wasn't even a good nuke.

2) not a crab (that I could tell in game) - disqualified

also already released... sort of....
I recall a certain plant that shot seeds that caused more plants to grow, that also had a tentacle thing that shot out and ate enemy actors.

the thing that was a little mini-turret that turned into a glowing ball.
this was both awesome and fail. The lua portion made it awesome, but that part wasn't really a crab, but rather lua, lua, and lua. the crab itself sucked, in fact it was lua alone that made this good.

DropCrab
Rofl I loved this, it was a great idea, and looked awesome. while it functioned, it did so badly... it kept wanting to tip over or collapse into things.



Everything else was a huge pile of bland. the boomcrabs where also especially bland, but they where so crappy that they earned some additional mockery.




my vote went to 'teleporty' but I would like to withdraw that vote now that I realize it was already released and thus disqualified, and place my vote instead on the drop crab, as it's the only one that focused on 'look imma crab of some kind and i don't rely on lua to be worth while' that didn't feel like a copy of a copy of a copy. stupid not being able to change my vote...

*edit
lua monster thing also crashed on my comp once. it worked the first and 3rd times. that should also be a bad sign 'this mod crashes the game for more than once person'

Was it the houseplant from the Traps mod contest? It had seeds and tentacles, but no spreading.

Technologies. Big Body with a little re-sprited vanilla gun ?
MC6A6. Not Accurate.
Mobile Turret. Yeap, it's a turret. but, I'm not interested by this one.
Drop Crab. Like a dropship. But, has four leg. Good for crushing enemy.
Boom Crab. Napalm Crab explosions unharm ?

Brain Crab can only be used in skirmish as a brain (I think) and has some important info in its description (like, how to use it.)

Porta Vater is a clone spawner that uses an ACrab. It's used by 2 devices in the tools tab.
