Braincrafts?
Greetings,
I'm curious as to whether it is possible to create a craft that is also a brain, and if this is possible whether anyone has created such a thing. I was considering a 'Mothership' type craft but I wanted to check whether this is possible or feasible before I attempt anything.
Depending on what CC's engine allows for campaign modding, this could allow for some very interesting possibilities.
Thankyou.

Re: Braincrafts?
Yeah, anything added to the brains group will simply fill the role of the brain, which really doesn't make it do anything special other than make you lose if it dies.

Making crafts the worst kind of brain, simply because they die REAL easy.

That's a matter of armor, to fix this simply create a custom material like the dummy behemoth uses, and replace each material with your custom one. You can increase the gib wound limit too. Some people have made crafts with guns attached so you might look into making a gun that drops bombs and attach it.

Re: Braincrafts?
Thats not what i meant. I meant these weaknesses: 1. Dropship brains would get one of their engines blown up, and are really Impulse sensitive. 2. Rocket Brains, tend to explode a lot. 3. Rockets are easily Tipped over. 4. Rockets would be extremely awkward to have a gun attached to it. 5. Guarding a dropship would be a nuisance.

Re: Braincrafts?
Wait. So 'Brains' are just a group? Does that mean you could make items into brains, or just actors/craft?

Re: Braincrafts?
Actually i never tried that, IM GOING TO RIGHT NOW. Edit: results: 1. it puts the grenade i added to the Brains Category, and wouldn't let me buy it after. Success 2. However it won't let you start without a actor brain so, Fail.

Re: Braincrafts?
I thought the same thing, it would be so much easier to make a brain a heldobject in a mission to deliver it somewhere else without it getting destroyed, then make you fail when it dies using lua.

Re: Braincrafts?
I'm sure you could make an actor brain that is able to be picked up somehow.

Re: Braincrafts?
Brains as objects is probably a much better way to do it. Then the object could be placed inside a craft, which would still feel just as important, and less vulnerable than if the craft were a brain itself.
Now I think I'll make a Kamikaze brain. Lures all the enemies to it, then violently explodes...

Re: Braincrafts?
For holdable brain, have it be "attached" to a shield. THINK it would work...
