I haven't noticed, this is my first time back on here in a while from an actual computer instead of my ipod.

I would be interested in a mod contest, since all I'm doing with CC at the moment is Re-vamping some of my older stuff and adding new content. you know SSDD. that and playing and getting the urge to make a map.

I like the WW1&2 theme, i could sure go for some nazi-killing-fun, or even a DOD play-as-the-nazi mod, or even a freaking Trench warfare map. CC Screams for a TW map, it really does, the trouble is making it so the AI can navigate it. even if that's not the theme, I'll probably still make a nice set of TW maps, and maybe some custom modules for it.

On that note, Here's a suggestion. a scene contest. plain scenes, and scenes with modules. or even just bunker modules. we haven't done those yet. OH and we could even do themed scenes, like 'make a scene, but it has to be an X-Themed scene' or 'it has to be made for using Y-type of units.

Oh, and, we could do a 'make the worst mod you possibly can' contest, that's something everyone can do. I mean, it's easy for a noob to make a bad mod, but to intentionally suck, that's hard. in fact, to win, you'd have to make a worse mod than everyone else.




Aaaaaannnd.... thats it, that's all i got right now. seriously if the christmass contest had no winner, go with the winner from the previous contest. Or you know, Duh can just make the theme and we can start the 2010 contest set, and just start over, this way we don't have to get ahold of the 'previous winner' forever. you know, yearly, or bi-yearly re-sets.

I already have the theme from findude. I've been mulling over the benefits and weaknesses of different methods of polling. So far, the two options I have considered are pm'd votes and something offsite like polljunkie.
I'm thinking a web poll like Polljunkie would be nicer for me (not having to tally them all up by hand) but so far they're limited in number of options. That and for the widget types I'd have to dig out my account details for xlphp and paste it in a new, austere, page.

so, Just in case I've missed it when I went through the thread, Has the theme been announced, and, will it, or is it it's own thread? also, do you have any idea when we will be starting?

-Theme has not been announced, but I have it, so when I start the contest it'll be there.
-Theme will be in it's own thread like normal, rules, name of contest, the whole shebang.
-Start time will be sometime this weekend most likely. Maybe later today (Friday the 5th).

I'm still not sure what method of polling I'll use. Data/Weasel/whoever the heck handles the forum software, fixing polls would be awesome, just saying.

If polls don't work, it could be off-site or the voters could PM their vote to you.

i'm gradually loosing interest due to the urge to go back to dwarf fortess. and thats bad because i've already been awake for 20 hours, and I'd probably be up another 9 hours on that. so I hope its a damn interesting theme, and posted soon.

I wouldn't advise using the forum polling, atleast until the
current standings can be hidden, and revoting limited as well.
