Post Cortex Command Bomb Lockup
I don't know why, but whenever I try to click on the bombs tab while i'm in-game (it's perfectly fine when it's in the build mode) cortex command locks up. The music still plays, and I can alt-control-delete out of it.

Use the mod manager, Go through every mod turning each one on and off- it might just be you have too many.

Ahem, its more likely that the game freezes, while still playing music, because one of your mods have a name with 11 or more letters in a single word.

It's a bug that is caused by (i think) CC's relatively new ablility to split names to prevent this:
Code:
OMG WTF HUGE G1U0N0N00000pz

Now it's more like this
Code:
OMG WTF HUGE
GUN           10000000000oz

Well that didn't work... What do you suggest I do other than the mod manager?

Well it doesn't matter as long as you can identify the exact item causing the lockup.
The subsequent step is to then find that item and separate the long word into two or more blocks of letters less than 11 characters long. You must use spaces for this, however, as hyphens and other characters are considered similarly to normal letters.

ok well, next time search the FAQ, cause i kinda wrote it down in general troubleshooting:

GENERAL Trouble Shooting

________________________________________________________________

Common Error Four: Using the buy menu, switching to a certain tab freezes game.

Commonly Seen When: Playing Skirmish/Mission

Reason: One or more Actors, Guns, Crafts, Bomb, or Shield has 11 or more letter in a single row, eg: Worthlessman

How to fix: Go into the most recent Mod(s) and go into all the .inis and then find the following:

AddActor = AHuman
PresetName = Worthlessman <==== more than 11 letters

Change to

AddActor = AHuman
PresetName = Worthless man

Then it should work.

Listing the variables possible to find:

AddActor = [ACDropship, ACRocket, AHuman, ADoor]

AddDevice = [HeldObject, TDExplosive, HDFirearm]

Under each of these will be a Preset Name, just make sure one word doesn't exceed 11 letters.

Edit: oh god clean up your cc folder.

It can also sometimes happen with objects that don't contain a sprite or have an incorrectly paletted sprite.
