Re: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (2010-01-15: New spawn method)
This mod is fairly awesome. I now try to see what situations can be more easily (or even less easily) accomplished with the use of cruise missiles.
"Hm. A cave full of crabs? I'm not going in there, mate. Send in a cruise missile."
"A cave full of zombies? Deffo use a cruise missile."
"One guy? With a pistol? In the middle of the featureless plain? Best not take chances, bring in a cruise missile."
I am very lazy.
Also, Dudemauler; man, half the fun is finding out what the icons mean. Oh, awesome, this bomb is a fuel-air? Neat. What's this one? A Bouncing Betty? Nice.
Also, is it impossible to use the UAVs on the green team? They aren't selectable once they've spawned (unless you spawn more than one; then only the last one is selectable).

Re-installed, and now only the gunpod UAV will work HALF the time. All the others explode upon spawn. How is no one having this problem?

There is absolutely nothing I did to the mod itself nor anything I could've done in Base.rte to make this problem happen.

Have you tried reinstalling Cortex Command?

Re: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (2010-01-15: New spawn method)
I have not been able to reproduce any of these problems. Not even when running the game on a Pentium 4 at delta time 0.03333 or playing on the green team.
What other changes have you done to settings.ini? The UAV-select unit is a glow so if you have turned off PostPixelGlow you won't be able to see it.

Re: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (2010-01-15: New spawn method)
I turned PostPixelGlow back on, but I could still see everything. I really don't want to re-install the whole game; it sucked enough back when I messed things up a lot, so it can only be worse now. If it doesn't work this time, I'm just gonna call it quits.

the AA rockets do not work for me, I fire them and they just slowly drift forward

Are you firing them at a dropship/rocket/craft? . . .

yes I am. they lock on, I fire them, they stay drifting under me, then explode and sometimes kill me.

So you're trying to bring down your own craft with it?

Re: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (2010-01-15: New spawn method)
I hate to necro a thread, but has anyone given any thought on how utterly badass it would be to have a UAV with turrets on it that fire at targets AC-130 style?
I'll gladly hack up a sprite like I did with the Jericho UAV if you're willing to code it Abdul.
