   |   Halo Mod?Okay- I've seen some pretty top of the line spriting and coding. Why doesn't make a HALO mod? I don't play it, but I know that others would most definitely play it. Well?

   |   Re: Halo Mod?Several attempts have been made, they all failed from what I know. Mostly due to lack of interest. Someone made a really good spritesheet once, though, iirc.

   |   Re: Halo Mod?Halo is a bit cliche, every game that can be modded has some sort of Halo mod. Even though Halo has the most glorious lore I've ever seen.

   |   Re: Halo Mod?Then why doesn't one of the great coding legends (Gotcha, Whitty) fix up some HALO pieces of awesome, use the existing sprites, and you've got somethin'! I mean, c'mon! I know kids that are obsessed with HALO and anything that pertains to it. It'd be a hit if it were in depth enough.

   |   Re: Halo Mod?It really is Halo btw, now an acronym. Proper noun. EDIT: Ninja'd, ah well It's not that it's not possible , it's that people don't want to do it. The franchise is quite well-gutted, and if you have not noticed, even original mods (that don't need to stick to canon) are a bit sparse nowadays. Modder motivation is at a local low.lol@ "coding legends"

   |   Re: Halo Mod?Bah, Halo...
The only thing that would be cool in a Halo mod would be a bigass ring-world map where you could walk upside-down (In the inner part).

 Like so:
 ___
 V

 ---
 O

 Otherwise, it's bleh.

   |   Re: Halo Mod?The needler has been done a number of times, and that's the only weapon that is particurally unique.I've played with a warthog too, but it was less-than-perfect.
Halo's much better in a 3D space, and super easy to get and play.

I have personally attempted to build a ringworld map, based on the Orbit Lands level. I got hung up on something and then bored, but I am certain someone with more patience than I could complete it.

   |   Re: Halo Mod?Give me a pelican with a turret, rockets, warthog and functioning pickup bay!I kid.
Seriously though, I do not see how it would be prohibitively difficult to activate and deactivate a "grab zone," in which a Lua script holds actors in place relative to the ship. I suppose you would have to either place this in the middle of the ship or disable flipping however.
I think I'll go look at building a "press x to enter" device.
