Post Blender
Wasn't sure where to put this, but I can't figure out Blender. The help files don't work, unless I have a full installation of Python it says, but I'm not sure what Python even is. Can anyone help me here?

Python is a programming language.

I got Blender working, and I'm a bloody idiot. Try harder.

Obviously, the python goes IN the blender. That is how you get it to work. There is no getting around this fact.

Actually, in an extremely grotesque way, your absolutely correct. Blender won't work without python, because at least part of it is made with python. Therefor python is IN blender, and more-over the blender is made of at least BITS of python.

Picture that. A blender made of python bits.

and to make it all the more zany model a python in a blender, with blender.

New posts just means you haven't read it. So, if you were gone for a week or w/e, everything that you hadn't read in the meantime would show up there.

another thing while we're here, whenever I go to check the rules, it just goes to the rules that weasel posted, and... it doesn't say anything about necro-ing. I know there's a rule against it, but I can't find it to know what the time limit is.

Also I'd like to point out that, with how slow this forum moves at times, the necro rule *could* extend to upwards of a month. but really thats only when theres less than like 12 'active' threads. I know, this isn't the place to bring that up, but it *is* the right time.

Necroing is not against the rules. In fact, as long as your contribution is worth something and the necro is not obscenely long, it is perfectly acceptable.
It's just a forum faux pas.

it has to be against the rules, because you can't get a warning for what isn't against the rules. I guess necroing is under the 'common sense' and 'mods can make ♥♥♥♥ up' clauses.

but seriously to get back on topic, blender. PC, Mac, Linix? it should be as simple as install python, check other requirements, install necessary librarys, and... thats it.

That is correct, necros fall under that category.
Sometimes the "moderator's discretion" is abused or taken a bit farther than necessary, and you can take it to Weasel by pm'ing him if you have a complaint.
Not that a warning is anything substantial you understand, simply a nudge from a moderator to show you where they think you're doing something you shouldn't be or should reconsider doing.

If you're willing to give up shiny surfaces and all that blender stuff, google sketchup is a really easy to learn well-designed free 3d modeling program.
