Happy Garden Tree Engine. -feedback
this is the method im using to render trees for an upcoming game called "skeleton tree" which will involve making a plant grow to destroy the encroaching humans, who wish to build a planned suburb over your forest. i need feedback on what you think of the growth engine. im putting the engine up here because data realms has a habit of giving me harsh critiques, so if i can get the engine through you guys, i can get it through anyone. feel free to comment, but please, if you see something bad, please point it out so i can fix it. pictures and the download: http://www.yoyogames.com/games/110211-h ... ee-engine#

Make the branches taper off.
Meaning: don't make the tips round, make them almost kinda sharp, and they should get generally thinner as they go along.
You do know how trees normally grow, right?

Don't let any of the small branches grow out too long. It looks strange with really really long branches.

Also, main branches usually grow outwards, almost perpendicular to the tree, not straight up.

yeah, those are all great tips, ill be sure to make them happen. i should be able to make tips and branches more perpendicular easily, but the size parts a bit harder. ill figure something out for it though.

Look at the way an oak tree grows. There are a a lot of harsh angles coming together to make this sort of mushroom shape, except instead of a right angle there's a gradual slope outward. In case you could not tell, this is not a tree, but it does illustrate what I'm talking about.
